would need more info what particular update what is the number of the update? have you tried to locate it in your add remove programs list and remove that individual one from there? to find out if there is any history on this update we have to have the specific info for it the number or KB of it.

From what I can see you had 10 updates successfully installed. Those were put out on Patch Tuesday, I had 11 updates and everything is normal here.

I agree I see all the ones that did install properly, have you tried to go back to the windows update site and let it scan to see what you need then select custom and then you should see exactly what is there for you to install which would include any that failed previously, anytime you want to see your update history you can go there to the windows update site and once you get to the area mentioned above if you look to the left you have an option to view your history.

to go to windows update site go to start, all programs, at the top windows update, if you happen to be using vista you may have a different path I don't have vista.
Or you can go to google and search for windows update the first entry should be microsoft windows update.

Go to your Add/Remove window - Start/Control panel/Add/Remove programs - and see if Netframework 3.5 SP1 is installed and listed there.

You show it with zero bytes downloaded so there is in fact nothing to install. The size on my computer is almost 29 megabytes.

What happened when you followed Raven's suggestion in her last paragraph?

not everyone needs the .net update you mentioned, however if you don't need it you should not have been offered it in your updates. I personally did not choose to do those .net updates, I do not have programs on my pc that need or use it. One thing you can do if it will not install on your pc and you do not seem to need it, you can choose to mark it at the windows update site to not show you that update again, it will continue to let you know that you have hidden an update when you go to check for updates.
Others have had problems with that update, you are not alone, it has been mentioned in lots of forums.

you can try googling for more info on that particular update and find additional info, you might find something that would work for you.

I had a problem with the .net update, so I just waited several days and went back to the Microsoft Update site and downloaded it again. This time it downloaded and installed without a problem.

suggested, I went back to the MS Update and scaned down to
the .netframework update and checked that it should not be
shown again. I hope that this will take care of it.
