Go Rangers!!!!!!

I have to admit to being a fair weather friend, but I used to follow the rangers when my son was playing youth baseball. We used to go to the games back when it was still affordable. It's a whole different team now, but I'm rooting for them anyway. They've never made it this far.

I'll say it again,

Woo hoooo! Go Rangers!

Congratulations cAROL!! You got a good start this year! Several of those are the seeds I sent you aren't they? I got 32 jugs done between yesterday and today. Tried to stick with things that need cold stratification but it's tough to nail it down with one or two seed types. There's conflicting information available so I just put those aside. I have far too many to get done to worry about the ones I'm not sure of. So far: Rudbeckia hirta 'Autumn Colors' & 'Cherry Brandy' Gaura lindheimeri 'The Bride' Pansy Penstemon 'Huskers Red' Russian sage Apple Pear Tricyrtis hirta/toad lily Phlox paniculata 'David' Stokesia 'Blue Danube' Hypericum Maiden grass Blackberry lily Trollius ledebouri/Chinese globeflower I'm most excited about the Russian sage. I harvested seeds--it's a lot of work getting at them so they'd better sprout! I've already had a comment from a neighbor who spotted the container ghetto on the breezeway. I would never have got so many done if I didn't prep jugs & write labels out way ahead of time. That's making a big difference this time. Silly me last year wrote out one label for each seed type when I actually needed multiples of each. Smartest thing I did was drag a bale of Fafard growers mix inside back around Thanksgiving. I've been taking snapshots along the way to share with everyone as the winter rolls on.

That's a beautiful bloom, Lrae. Enjoy it! Over seven inches, it looks like! I am jealous! I've got lots of scapes on my my daylilies. Gene said I could keep them on there, because my daylilies will grow most of the year in my climate. Don't know what kind of blooms I will get though. Nothing like you have there. Not this year!

I don't have a seedling... I bought a small tree.... which actually was not at my new house this winter so it died back during the winter... I was surprised to see buds. So, at this moment, it's quite short... probably, counting the pot, maybe 4.5 feet tall. I have dosed it with a blooming fertilizer twice this spring... in an effort, with other fertilizer to come back from it's die back.

I'm not Country, Ruthie, but a little research I was doing earlier in the year let me find that Samsung is one of the few smooth stove top manufacturers who does at least strongly hint that their smooth topped stoves are fine for home canning. They say: Not for anything commercially intended. Their description address both the weight, and the constant, not fluctuating, burner heat - which are both an issue with my Jenn Air. I haven't done anything but a little water bath canning on my Jenn Air, I'm 'chicken'. No pressure cooker on it, I know from cooking on it the burner heat does fluctuate up and down. It was in this house when we bought last year, not one I chose. There was a gorgeous French doored, bottom mount freezer Samsung refrigerator on sale at Home Depot that was 'speaking' to me, but I'm not ready to replace my Amana quite yet, and I did have some trouble finding long term reliability info on the Samsung. They certainly are pretty though!

We are friends with Joe Girardi, Yankees manager. So Jessy, since you have no team loyalties, can you send a few good thoughts his way? He really needs them this week :)

All I can say after spending way too much money on Tampa Bay Rayscolor> tickets is CRUD, wish it was the Rays playing the Yankees!!

OK I'll root for both teams, LOL. I am the consumate fence sitter. Looks like the Yanks aren't dead yet.

I have two favorite baseball teams: The Dodgers and anyone playing the Yankees!
I do have a lot of family in Texas and I also tend to always root for the underdog. I hope they get to go to their first Series.

I am still hoping for a miracle for my Phillies. They made a comeback in last night's game against the Giants but lost it in the last inning. None of the pitchers could get it together.

If anyone's got an extra "root" in them, please send it to the Phils tonight.

That's how I feel about the Cowboys. I cheer for whoever is playing against them.

Well, we're not at the World Series, yet, but hopefully Friday we'll win it at home. The Yankees sure don't make it easy!

Way back in another century I was a football fan and a Cowboys fan. I haven't followed either much in a long time. So, even though I live near Dallas, I'm not a Cowboys fan, either. Maybe if Jones were to sell the team and fire himself, I might go back to being a fan.

But I love Nolan Ryan, and am very happy he's an owner of the Rangers now.

Dedtired, I'll root for your Phillies. I don't know anything about the NL, so I don't have an allegiance either way.

THEY DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!

I never thought I'd see the day that the Rangers would go to the World Series. ... Or whoop up on the Yankees. I don't know which is better. :-D
