Comments (3)I agree that not being able to turn off the convect fan in the bake mode is just plain silly, but that is the way this particular model works. The noise problem isn't that something is loose -- we have had an authorized service man out twice and it is the fan/air noise, not anything rattling. I've talked to the Whirlpool people and it seems that the convect fan issue is really planned into some of their units. I think it's ridiculous and I hope they carefully identify that this is the case. Some people may not care, but I wanted a clear choice between bake and convect. Other than that, though, these ovens were just too noisy to keep and KitchenAid has agreed to take them back....See MoreSamsung vs. KitchenAid Wall Oven/Microwave
Comments (12)@stumpydarby I just had to buy a refrigerator as ours went out on Christmas day. I was going to get a Bosch as I love my Bosch dishwasher. I get an employee discount with Bosch, Samsung, Whirlpool & GE. I went to Lowes and looked at the Bosch and then came across the Samsung 4 door flex refrigerator. We have had a Samsung fridge b4 w/ no issues and we've had a samsung washer and dryer with nothing but issues. Two sets in 10 years. I really do think it's the luck of the draw on appliances nowdays due to all the features. I went with the Samsung fridge but paid full price bc they had one in stock and got it in 3 days. I am now looking for a microwave/convection combo or the set like you purchased. Microwave/oven combo. I am glad to hear that you have enjoyed your choice and have had no problems. Hope I have the same luck. :-)...See MoreKitchenAid vs Jenn-Air wall oven/ RE: excess heat being blown out.
Comments (7)You might consider a GE Twin Flex oven. I suspect because each oven cavity is smaller it only needs a low speed fan to vent when using one oven or the other. The fan is certainly quiet. My Miele dishwasher is louder than this oven. Also, it's very well insulated. The doors & cabinet walls stay cool, & there is very little heat transferring from one oven into the other. I had no idea about the hot oven vent issues until reading about them here, so when I checked this oven's vent, the air felt comfortably warm at most, & a gentle discharge of air too. No worries with small grandkids in the kitchen. I've not had both ovens going full blast for extended length of time. That probably will make the fan run faster & the blowing air hotter. But that's the point: most of the time, it's the small top oven that's used, so not as much heat to discharge. The lower oven on convection roast isn't a problem. That's why I think the smaller ovens only need a lower fan speed when using one or the other, hence a cooler kitchen. Performance-wise, it's a very good baker (both top & bottom) & roaster, is more spacious than it appears, & has a faster preheat (and is a LOT quieter) than my old KitchenAid. I have yet to miss a big single oven, & with rising utility rates, am glad not to be heating 5 cubic feet just to roast a baking sheet of broccoli. That's one expensive solution. You could also get a countertop oven, if you have the counter space to spare. Or you could install a ceiling fan. That's a stylistic no no, but I love having one for when I do steamy water bath canning or to help disperse kitchen smells....See MoreReplacing 42" Sub Zero. & 30" wall oven Dacor, KitchenAid, other?
