One thing your husband may want to try, this is what I do and like it, I create folders on the bar directly above the tabs which is the bookmarks toolbar, in those folders I put say my daily faves the ones I go to first every day, then all I have to do is right click that folder and hit open all in tabs and voila there they all are. I do a folder for my emails too since I have a few and can open all them at once the same way. I love the bookmarks tool bar, if you choose not to put them in folders you can simply drag any website you are currently on to the bookmarks tool bar by grabbing it's icon in the url bar and just drag it to that toolbar and it will stick, to change the name right click on the icon choose properties and you can make changes. to create the folder on the bar right click a clear space click new folder the box comes up to name it, then to put your faves in there just go to the website and drag it in or right click on the folder and select add bookmark here.

that toolbar is called the bookmarks toolbar, it can accidentally removed when you are adjusting the chrome as you were, when you click on view then toolbars at the top it has the various toolbars listed there if you want it to show it must have a check mark in front of it if you remove the checkmark the toolbar will disappear until you again put a check mark there in front of it in that list. crabbypatty I have done several postings with firefox tips and tricks you can do a search here for them and likely find then or do a search on my name. you can add a new tab icon to your firefox navigation bar by clicking on view toobars customize that will open a box with a lot of icons you can drag onto your navigation toolbar, one is a new tab icon, just drag that onto your bar and click on it when you need a new tab. or you can just right click on the tab bar itself and select new tab. or any link you want to open in a new tab just right click on the link itself and choose open in new tab

Thanks Raven. Setting up the email helped - so easy and works great. I'm having more trouble with the tabs. I went to tools, options and tabs - but no matter what I choose, I can't get the tabs to stay there. I think I'm not quite clear on using them. I noticed that if I have a webpage open, and I click a link within that webpage, then it opens up the newly linked webpage - and retains the original webpage in a tab. At least I think that's what's happening - am I right? But what I was also hoping to do is if I'm on one webpage - say computer forum - and I don't want to close it - but then I want to go to my AOL mailbox - if I click on my AOl mailbox (or any other bookmarked page) - that new page opens - but I get disconnected from the other page I had opened. Is there a way to keep the former page open as well - until I close it - and have it display as a tab? I'm talking about opening up separate websites - not going from within one page and clicking a link to another. When I was using my AOL browser (which I gather is similar to IE), if I had a page opened - and then opened another - they would both be open. I'm assuming that isn't how firefox is set up by default. In which case, is there a way I can set it up like that? I did do the color tabs (I think I was looking on a link you provided in another thread for some cool add-ons and things for firefox). It's the only plugin or add-on that I got from the beginning bc.
