Selling High End Appliances??

We are replacing our appliances because we are getting custom cabinets and the appliances that were here were not the size we wanted.

So we need to get rid of the 36' Subzero and a barely used 30' Viking range (previous owners didn't cook).

Our contractor's partner said he wanted to buy them, but now they are in storage at his house and he's suddenly gone quiet about buying them which is quite frustrating!

So what do you think would be a reasonable price to ask for old appliances? They are about 5 or 6 years old I think, but in very good shape. You wouldn't know that they weren't new although the SZ has some light scratches on the front.

I was thinking about $1250 - $1500 each? What do you think? Too much? Too little?

He also wanted the cabinets which are in perfect shape and still modern. He's gone quiet on those too. Sigh.

So what do you think? Are old appliances re-sellable? Could we donate them and take a tax deduction?

Any other ideas?

It would be too awful to just throw out a SZ and Viking in perfect working order!

Any ideas much appreciated!
