Is your anti virus still working or has it been disabled by the Trojan?
What anti malware programs do you have on the computer? Malwarebytes or Superantispyware hopefully?
If you have these or any other safety program can you update and run a FULL scan with any of them?

Probably a variant of the XP Antivirus scam. We've been flooded with calls this week at work. I would recommend SuperAntispyware or MalWareBytes like Owbist suggested.

download and install the above free program, update it prior to using it, run full scan and then allow it to clean what it finds, it will provide you with a log if you could post it here we can see if it looks like you will need further assistance.

My McAfee was/is disabled
DS came over and ran Spydoctor. It took 2 hours and got rid of 1,019 items. It put my McAfee back on my bottom toolbar but I can'g open it. Still got the warning screens. Other DS told me to do the Superanti-spy ware and it took a long time and had 39 items to get rid of. One mention was the dreaded Rogue Windows System Suite which seems to be the culprit it is still in the toolbar and I'm still getting the warning screens. I can't find it in the file or progrms I might hve to pay to get rid of it for good.

Tomorrow I'll see about running Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware

Thanks for your suggestions I keep getting the warnings and also the ad for the FREE download of the Suite but I know it isn't free very frustrted.

You can have as many of the anti-spyware programs as you want on your computer but Malwarebytes is probably the best. You can however only have one antivirus program like McAfee,Symantec (Norton), Avast, AVG etc

Yes do run Malwarebytes, you can get it here for free. Be sure to click the free version though.

Computer safety is a moving target, sufficient protection today might not be enough tomorrow. For myself I run Windows Defender, Superantispyware, Malwarebytes and Spywareblaster BUT only 2 or 3 on each computer.Same with anti virus, I run AVG, Antivir and Avast but only one on each machine.

The number of protective programs is not the issue really, the frequency with which they are used is the important factor. I recently cleaned a computer that had both Malwarebytes and Superantispyware on but neither program had been updated or ran for 18 months, just foolishness.

Well I did another Super spy scn when I went to bebed and in the morning it sid it detected 34 items regarding the same thing this dreaded "Windows System Suite" and did its things as far as getting rid of them but it's still there and so annoying. I'll try the malware thing next.
I did two googles on "Windows system suite" the second one for free removals etc. I have the instructions from the 411 site about manual removal but am afraid of going into those inner sanctum DLL's and registry things.

I ran the Malwarebytes and I think it got rid of it. So far so good!!
It created a long wordpad doc and put it in logfiles (I don't know where that is)
On the right side of my bottom toolbar I now have an icon for the following and I'd like to knw if I should keep them all and/or the progrm that comes with them
I wnt to keep McAfee (which it must have fixed)since it came with my version of AOL 9.0 Opt SE

4.Avast Virus Recovery Data Base (VRDB) generator

and an icon I've had for a long time but don't know what it is for called Safely remove hardware
these are in addition to my clock and a few other things.

The Avast I just downloaded yesterday or the day before when trying to get rid of the virus but it wouldn't open at that time

you can not have both the mcAfee and the AVast on the machine running at the same time they will conflict. Personally I would get rid of the mcafee and keep the Avast. Which is what I have done on 2 of mine so far. McAfee caused me so much headache and was such a relief when it was gone. Avast is free and excellent. However you will need to use a removal tool to get rid of McAfee.

The main antimalware to keep would be malwarebytes and superantispyware. update them and run the full scan at least once a week.

However if what you had was indeed that infection my guess is you are not clean, most of those now are installing other items that have to be cleaned using special programs which you will need guidance with from one of the security support forums. I would go here, to this forum, register and post a thread there with a link back to this thread to let them know what has been done and they will assist you in making sure you are clean.

Download Free AVG it is the best AV around, Avast is not as comprehensive as AVG, get rid of McAfee, Male ware is okay for spy ware, but to get rid of a virus you need to scan entire PC with AVG...

The user needs to go to a Malware removal forum as suggested by ravencajun, tools like AVG, and Avast are not used on an already infected machine, the user needs to run special tools and special logs will be created an looked at by an expert.

When Malwarebytes completed it's task it brought up a Notepad screen with the results, similar to the one below

I created that one doing just the quick scan so I could show you what you would be looking for. To show yours here run the full scan again, click OK when finished and the log should pop up on your screen. In this window click 'Edit' at the top, then 'Select all'. Right click on the highlighted text and click 'Copy'. Then paste it into a post here.

Don't worry about the differences between AVG, Avast or Antivir, they all do a good job with a virus, you do not appear to have a virus so use Malwarebytes.

I use Kaspersky Anti Virus 2009, it is a leading anti-virus software and Internet Security software solution for your home computer or business. Heard that AVG also works very well, but never tried.
