Do half reno now or wait to do entire thing?

We recently bought a house that needs a lot of work. The majority of our budget is going towards a kitchen and we've had some unexpected expenses with the home leaving us little left to do the bathrooms.

The main floor bathroom is a full bath with a ceramic tile floor and tub surround. I don't mind the tile. The problem is the vanity is very low (1965 house) and my husband is tall. Is it silly to replace the vanity now? Eventually we would like to get a freestanding tub and do a separate shower leading us to also replace the floor.

Speaking of free-standing tubs? How much room is needed for one? Would it fit in the existing built in tub spot?
