I ordered two mirrors at the same time, both from homeclick.com. One was a Whithaus New generation mirror, the other a Watermark Loft. Both arrived safely but at wildly different times (Watermark after 2 weeks, Whitehaus after 14 weeks!). Both were well packed, the Whitehaus extremely so, so well in fact I feared I would break it getting it out. The literally entombed the bubble-wrapped mirror inside the box by using some kind of spray-in foam that then hardened. It was a lot like encasing Han Solo in carbonite, only without the instant-thaw wizardry. I finally had to cut the box away and cut through the foam until I heard a bubble "pop" (Oh, that must be the mirror ...). Long story but my advice -- order away. I bought nearly all of my bathroom remodel parts online with few hassles. The only caution is lead time -- sometimes they advertise things they may not have in stock. Most tell you that upfront. Homeclick, plumbersurplus, Vermont Soapstone, Modwalls, Chicago Faucet, eBay, Ira Woods, etc.

Thanks- all good things for us to know when buying an expensive item. It is now ;Cyber Monday'= and I don't see any prices that are different from the last several weeks...maybe Cyber Monday is just a gimmick? I had a horrid experience with buying from Best Buy- in person....first, the salesperson walked away while I was actually asking questions about the computers- I floowed him through several isles to drag him back. He then said 'I'll be back in 3 minutes'....10 minutes later I found him standing up front talking with coworkers. I again ragged him back to the computer area. I bought the HP Mini. I did complain to the mgr, who gave me a $40 off the computor. 4 days later, when I returned the computer because it didn't work, the mgr only refunded $359, not $399...I guess all the crap I went through/got a sales price renigged because the product didn't work, and it was then ok to have such bad salespeople. I won't ever be buying from Best Buy. Now....where are the Cyber Day Sales????? owbist- I think it was you that said I was already ahead $40 online.....where, please?

In my personal opinion, purchasing anything that will burn inside the home should be purchased through a local company/dealer. If there are problems, the local dealer can solve them. They have professional installers that will install the unit to all codes. The homeowner's insurance companies like that. If not professionally installed, red flags go up all over the place in the insurance office. And if they aren't notified that you have a new fireplace, and something happens, you may not be covered. Is it worth the few bucks you'll save?

Inaccuracies? Lets see. In your first post you said "I have my telephone, cell phone, electricity accounts set up to do the same. Have been doing this for about 15 years without a SINGLE problem." In your very next post, you go on to say "When online banking first started (and back when my account was with Seafirst (now Bank of America), I started using their online payment method. It was complicated; I had to give the bank the payee information and rely on the bank to get it right. For one payee, the bank was sending the payment to the wrong payee and I didn't find out for several months when the right payee contacted me directly. It took a couple of weeks for the bank to get it straightened out and the money back in my account. Although inconvenient, I did not lose a dime. But I suspended all of the online banking at that point because clearly I could not trust the bank to get it right." You said you have NEVER had a SINGLE problem and in your next post admit to having had one? So which one is it? Next inaccuracy. "I never made the inference that those who don't use debit cards or auto pay might be paranoid. I did infer that people who make decisions based on faulty information rather than factual information were being hysterical and or paranoid." Read your sentence again. "There seems to be as much hysteria and paranoia about auto payments as about debit/cc cards." Where did you say that "that PEOPLE who make decisions based on faulty information rather than factual information were being hysterical and or paranoid"? People DO have problems with debit/autopay. They also have to wait longer to get their money back. You said so yourself. Why is it ok for you to point out others inaccuracies while admitting none of your own? In any case, it is insulting to refer to anyone as being "hysterical or paranoid" just because they choose to adopt different banking methods.
