Email link problem

I have recently changed my PC to a new model with Vista. Only one problem has caused concern so far and it relates to Email pages. If I have an Email that contains a link to another website when I click on the link it comes up with the error message 'application not found'. This problem is the same whether I am accessing an Email using Windows Mail or through Internet Explorer or similar. I have searched for possible reasons and am in need of some help with this one. Can anyone help?

If this happens on a Mac, I would run Disk Utility and repair your disk permissions.

Can you right click on the link and gain access through the drop down menu?

Hi Potsey, I really have no idea why it won't take the info you entered, but I likely can do it for you. Email me please if you would like for me to try. I have helped several others in the past when they had problems...not sure why it would not work for them. I'll be checking my email off and on this PM. Sue

It looks like the email issue has been fixed however, any changes that were made (trade list updates, etc.) were not backed up. For instance, I did an 'overhaul' on my trade lists yesterday... everything was saved and it was reflected on my member page last night. This morning, it's back to how it was prior to GW having issues. Was nothing backed-up when they were working on the email problem?

BTW, my computer is an HP h8-1120 2.00 running 64 bit Windows 7 Home Premium. I ran Super Antispyware and Microsoft Security Essentials and Malware Bytes and no threats showed up. I turned the computer off for 4 hours; rebooted; and still have the same issue.

Sorry about the break in transmission. Our daughter has just had twins - this has been something of a distraction. In answer to you question the only drop down menu choices are - Copy shortcut, save target as, save background as, select all.
