Is everyone getting this new advertisement at the bottom of the page "Rev up your back to school routine"?

It seems to happen with using Chrome, does not happen with IE8 or FF..As a matter of fact, this post does not even show when I use Chrome

I get in in Firefox 14.0.1 if I disable both Adblock Plus and Ghostery.

antonv I don't think it hogs any more memory then I E as to the thumb drive it all depends on it's size and yes FireFox keeps all your passwords safe and logs in for you ...such as this site when I need to post. I originally set up the passwords (first time) etc and FF asks me do I want to remember the password.... then and you have a choice yes, no, (or never) and not at this time. I own no stock in this company but I find that it works better for me. And as I stated you can still have IE on your computer so your not giving up anything . Plus there are a ton of add ons that FF calls extension that are small programs to do various things such as when you bookmark something and it's already in there this little pop up tells you that you already have it as a bookmark. I think it's cool but then what do I know. Big Al

bumpity bump, BTW, Buehl I see this one's approaching its capacity, when you re-post would you consider putting the words READ ME in all caps to make this crucial starting point more obvious to new comers? I know it's equivalent to shouting, but I feel like shouting might be tolerable in this case. Thanks, again, for all the work you've done to keep this thread alive and current. Hi Maine Susan, this thread is actually a 2009 version of the all-important "New to Kitchens Forum" info thread, so the above reference to the search boxes no longer applies to the format since GW was migrated to Houzz. The link to the updated version of this thread is below. Buehl has had to rewrite many parts of the thread since moving to Houzz, so be sure to read the updates in the comments after the first post; unfortunately some threads lost content or needed to be updated after the move here. I am getting the ad in FF (which I normally use) but so far not in IE8 which I normally use only for work.

The experience I've had with AdBlock Plus my last few installs is that it has started automatically (and randomly) subscribing me to a blocklist. Randomly choosing between Easylist and Fanboy.

I suspect they started doing an auto-subscribe because folks used to add AdBlock Plus, fail to subscribe to a list, and then complain that it didn't work?

Maybe it doesn't do that in Windows? My memory is short. I think it does though.

Either way, Fanboy on this machine, no ads. Easylist on my netbook and my server, no ads.

If I were going to run IE 9, I'd make use of it's new "Tracking Protection" feature with EasyList. http://ie.microsoft.com/testdrive/Browser/TrackingProtectionLists/

I was getting the iVillage ad on the bottom of my screen in FF, but I was not using Adblock Plus. I installed Adblock Plus, and....POOF.... the ad is gone.
