Savevid is back with it's old format so I am all set on at least the normal or usual type videos. I also installed the firefox add on. It seems to work ok. However, I still have two problems. One website, even though I am a paying subscriber, does not allow you to download the videos. I guess they want to restrict you to just having your eyeballs glued to the computer screen instead of a comfortable tv screen in the living room. I am not sure but I think they are not providing a download link. I assume there is a way to get around this but if not then I am going to cancel my subscription and save the money. Also I am adding images to the usb port device to display on the roku. Some of the images. particularly map images. are simply too small to read them on the tv screen. I guess I don't have any software on my system to enlarge then save the enlarged image. Any simple free software out there to do just this one task. Thanks

Snidely- I did that last night and it downloaded my pictures (that I took with the camcorder) and the videos as well. I can't open the files though. Zep- I went to the DXG's website but there's no driver for my camcorder; I chose the closest one- of course it didn't work. I'll call them tomorrow. Owbist- I'm using 2007; I did as you suggested and nothing would come up. I've always used Windows Explorer for other stuff but somehow, this doesn't work. Thanks again for all the help I've gotten. Just curious does the hotel tell you that when you check in? We mostly stay at red roof a lot and I watch Netflix on my tablet or laptop all the time at their hotel with wifi and other hotels and never ran across that situation. Netflix is streaming only so you can't download from them to watch off line. Someone else will help you with downloading as I stream all my movies while traveling and staying in hotels. Mary

I really can't recommend one. The only place I ever download streaming video from is Youtube, and not often at that. I linked the extension I use for that here but it only works on youtube.com. What I would probably do is go into "Add-ons Manager" and search for something like "video downloader" and look though them for one that purports to work on the sites I intended to use it. I'd also look at the number of users as well as the rating, with the realization that nothing works for everyone. Perhaps somebody else will come along and recommend one from personal experience, I'm sorry, I can not.
