you would only have MSE if you went and downloaded it and installed it, the program does NOT come with windows. You would need to totally remove AVG when and if you do get MSE, as stated use the removal tool which you can find here. Antivirus Product Removal Tools Keep malwarebytes if that is actually what you have, it is difficult to know when you do not use the actual names in your post. What does this line that you posted mean??? "the malware small window at the bottom of my screen" are you referring to malwarebytes? or is it some rogue malware??? Tell us exactly what it is you see and what it goes to. Names of security programs are extremely important because the people that want to infect your computer with bad stuff create the bad stuff and put names on it that are very similar to real programs and if we do not know which you have well we can't really help. And zep is right the mini is not really meant to be a main computer it is small in every way not just size, it has a very small processor and since yours runs windows 7 it takes a lot to run that and the little mini will struggle. but you do need to tell us exactly what is slow, is it surfing the web, is it booting up, is it opening programs on it????

actually AVG 8.5 is the latest version out, there were some early reports on some of the other forums I am on of problems, I know they were working on them. So if you do get AVG make sure you get the latest version avg 8.5.278 released I no longer use AVG just had too many problems when the went to 8. They decided to compile several tools into one with 8 rather than just leaving it the good stand alone AV product it was and that was the mistake. They had a great AV and a great product in Ewido and trying to combine it all together with some other items just conflicted with too many systems. I now use AVAST free and love it. you will want to read these AVG FAQ sheets prior to install to find out how to do it with out the link scanner and things that are causing problems. FAQ As with most things pc related it might work just great for some but really cause others a very bad day, I personally just can not discount the number of people who did have some bad days. It appears that it is gone. I used the Remover instructions you gave me RC on the Google home page and never saw AVG when I clicked on the the AVG toolbar options/advance. Nor did I see it in IE. The only option for search providers was Google listed as default/enabled/not available. I saw it in Firefox and removed it. I have only uploaded that program a few months back but never used it. I removed the Google toolbar on the culprit Google home page that was with the AVG toolbar and the AVG disappeared. Then I brought back Google. I rebooted and it is still gone and not listed as a program.I am holding my breath as it is a backward way of following the directions though I tried carefully to do that. grandms.Your thought about the company called "On call 25/8" has been running through my mind since they came out and created a pw to get into Windows last week. They had my computer a couple of months ago when I couldn't find a graphic device and did a thorough look. There was something wrong about the guys paying forward pitch that bothered me. For $750 I could get so many hours of future help in my home. He also would take care of installing my new router and Apple apps.
