I may still have that Trojan!

I hope I can explain this correctly.

I was running the Malwarebytes scan. About 1/4 the way through the scan - a notice from my Anti-V program that is provided by my ISP (Charter High Speed Secruity Suite) popped up.

It said:

Spyware Blocked

Real-time scanning blocked access to Adware:W32/GameVance.gen!B

They recommended Quarantine.

You helped me last week and that is when I downloaded Malwarebytes. At that time when I ran the scan, this same thing happened. I think, if I remember right, I OKed the Quarantine at that time. Does that move the Trojan out of the way so it is not picked up by Malwarebytes? The report at the end of the scan showed nothing.

The CHSSS from my ISP has been a very good until this problem. I hope I don't have to get rid of it!

I still have the notice from CHSSS on my screen, Do you recommend that I click on the Quarantine again?

Did you turn off the System Restore before running the scan again? Sometimes the trojan may be in the System Restore settings and is flagged by the scan. Turn off Restore and reboot the computer to empty the restore setting files. Then after rebooting turn System restore back on.

I have never used System Restore. Where do I find it?

Live and learn, now I know... I've always thought that since THEY SUPPLY A SPRAYER that it would make reasoble sense that Miracle grow is designed for direct foliage application. Apparently not. I'm hoping that the plants will stabilize within a few more days and go back to be prolific growers. IF anything the trimming of the tops and burnt ends will focus more energy on fruit production, and less on green growth. I've had fruit on the vines for 2 weeks now, slowly getting bigger, but still green.

It looks sunburned to me. :-/ They need to introduced to the outdoors gradually. I don't know if it is savable. You may want to take it out of the pot and see if it still has roots. Cactus and succulents really shouldn't be watered on a schedule. They need to dry out in between. It takes some time to learn what each one needs. Many of us judge by the weight of the pot. It's hard to help with with the care of your others, without knowing what they are. If you know the names, you can google for information, or post pictures here for help.

Well, the behavior of the rock makes sense. Knowing what we know now, thanks to Sweetcheetah, is that the rock is extremely well-bonded, pure quartz. This rock went through a lot of metamorphism to the point where the quartz grains grew into each other. The degree to which this happens with quartzites depends on how much metamorphism it undergoes. Some quartzites aren't much different from the sandstone they started out as. But others get much more heat and pressure and approach melting, but don't melt. Instead they recrystallize where the grains all grow into each other. It looks like in this rock the crystals are fairly large, which probably makes it more challenging to work with. So yeah, cutting this rock would be a lot like cutting glass. Extremely difficult and prone to breaking. As I described above, quartz (and glass) tends to break unevenly so it's hard to make a clean cut in that case. Too bad, Antarctica is a stunner. But the Snowflakes is cool too! Soilbean's example is fantastic (and those pendants - swoon!).

I moved a Salvia May Night last summer and just unceremoniously plunked it into a hole I dug in ordinary dirt close to and under a Pin Oak by our driveway where it only gets sun from about 2 till 5 or less. Its in very dry unimproved soil so maybe its moisture or too rich soil causing the flop? Mine actually looks good and bloomed same as usual. I transplanted another part of it in even more shade down by a shrub where you can't really see it just because I didn't have the heart to toss it, both bloomed this spring and didn't flop, frankly this plant got boring to me so I relegated it to unimportant spots and thats why its where it is now, poor thing. I'm editing to add that it gets more sun in spring before the neighbors blasted Pin Oak monster leafs out, the rest of the season it just sits there but it did bloom twice because I deadheaded it. My experience was catmint got too bushy & tall in morning sun only making it messy looking compared to the nice silver & xeric looking compact & tight form they have in full sun, that mattered to me a lot more than the blooms. It bloomed just fine in spring but I got rid of it because I didn't like the looks of it and didn't try to transplant it. I always felt compelled to trim it back and I hate the smell of it. I learned that if you dig out the salvia it will come back because the roots are so deep and extensive. It might take a about three digging sessions to get it all out if its been growing there for a while.

They recommend quarantining the problem. Do it, that is exactly what the program is designed to do. It has found a problem and wants you to agree to it being fixed.

see you got it sorted out, yes quarantine is a good choice when offered that locks it down so that it can not run on the computer.

system restore does keep a back up of all of your settings and stuff so sometimes we will find that if you had an infection then cleaned it, a later scan will see that infection still listed in your system restore folder, system restore points do drop off in time so it will eventually drop out as newer restore points take over the space, if you had to restore to a point in time that did show that infection then it would be back in your system, being in system restore does not pose a threat till you would have to use it. Doing what you did and clearing the restore points is a good way to get rid of those, however that leaves you with no restore points in case of an emergency, so since you have done that it would be a good idea to go ahead and create a few restore points now with the pc running good and with the infection gone so that should you need them you have them.
We never have anyone clear restore points till we are absolutely certain things are working properly because any restore point even an infected one is better than zero.
So please be cautious when telling someone to clear their restore points that could be disastrous in some cases it is the absolute last step you want to take after everything is cleared. And since they do drop off in time we do not always have them clear them in some cases.
