These icons are shortcuts to the programs themselves and likely have become corrupted. I would just delete them and then go to the program in your Start list, right click on it. "Send to" will appear with a list of choices. Choose "Desktop (create shortcut)" and you will have new icons that should work.

try going directly to the program and try opening it from there rather than using those desktop icons, start> all programs> find program in list and double click there to open

I had "NO Ads" for quite a time on the computer, finally it was able to stop IE 6, at the time.
No Ads was becoming a nuisance, so I removed it, in order to use IE. The ads are less of an annoyance than No-Ads was..

Can't find Explorer in my system ISP Tech was no help DS said to go and download it again

Try this Minnie.
Right click Start
click Explore
In the left side click the plus sign beside C:\ and the menu drops down
Scroll down and click the plus sign beside Program Files
Scroll down some more and click once on Internet Explorer to highlight it

Now look on the right side and right click on iexplore or iexplore.exe, which ever you see and in the pop up box click to send a short cut to your desktop.

Close all the stuff and double click on the new icon and you should be good to go. If so then right click on the old icon and then click to delete it. Done hopefully.

you say tonight it does not work do you mean it has always worked before but suddenly stopped? If so the easiest way to go may be to do a simple system restore to the day that it was working, it sounds like settings have been changed, here are the very easy directions to do that system restore, just select a date from the provided calendar when things were working properly.
