You and I probably agree that's not a great reason to kill a 1000 year old tree, but nonetheless thats why they do it, people buy it. Like I said I could tolerate some cutting of large trees as long as others were protected. That seems like the best of both worlds for habitat quality. Keep some old growth to support species that depend on it, but keep forests dynamic so that you can have more diversity. The problem is that there just arent enough lands set aside for natural areas becuase there are so many people who need houses to live in and shopping malls to buy junk at. At the end of the day we need more forests (of whatever age) and less sprawling subdivions of ugly homogeneous boxes. trees can and will in time adapt to climatic change, logging, whatever. We just need to give them a fighting chancve by not crowding them out of existence.....will get off of my soapbox now.

Yes same as firefox 3----- no it will not replace IE6 you will just have an extra browser an that's good to have for trouble shooting like now. The only time IE6 is replaced is if you install another IE browser. Like IE7 OR IE8 So give it a shot nothing to loose and maybe things to gain.

You asked "are you sure you installed the firefox version and not the IE version?" I thought so. When I just now returned to http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/, it says "You have version 10,0,22,87 installed" The red/white banner at the top of the page is very busy flashing the message "Adobe Flash Player successfully installed." (And yes, I'm now using Firefox.) When I installed it, I chose this --- Adobe Flash Player version 10.0.22.87 Windows : 1.8MB Different operating system or browser? [a clickable line] Browser: Firefox, Safari, Opera Download time estimate: 2 minutes @ 56K modem --- Was I supposed to select "different operating system?" In other words, "Windows Vista/XP/2003/2002/2000."

I have forgotten how I ended up on YouTube when I was researching granite, but I stumbled across Granite Shorts. This is a series of short videos covering all sorts of information about granite. They are produced by a granite slab yard and I highly recommend them for those of us in the learning stages. One of my favorites is Episode 7 where he shows how he worked with a customer to lay out her template. Some of the information is elementary but with such an expensive purchase, it's worth learning all you can. It's fun to get a preview of what to expect of the process.
