Need opinions on replacement desktop

So it's finally time to replace my 8 year old desktop PC. It's slow (80 G; 512 RAM) and every time the air temperature goes above 75 degrees with any humidity at all it constantly freezes up and I have to reboot.

We have laptops in the house that my teens share with me. But this is for our home office off the kitchen and I want to keep a desktop there for everyone to use when we need it. (Surfing, email, pictures, iTunes, etc.. No gaming or anything) I plan to get myself a good quality laptop at some point but this is what I will primarily use for now.

I went to a locally owned computer store today. They are a medium sized operation and sell new, used and in -house refurbished computers. They said for what I'm using it for I don't have to spend too much.

So the options they recommended were:

1) Compaq refurbished. AMD Athlon Dual Core 4450e, 2GB RAM, 250GB Hard Drive, Vista $309.00

2) Dell Inspiron refurbished. Intel Pentium 1.6GHz, 3GB RAM, 250GB Hard Drive, Vista. $319.00

3) eMachines New. AMD Sempron 150 2.9Ghz, 2GB RAM, 500GB hard Drive, Windows 7 $399.00

Or should I consider just going to Best Buy and looking at some of their deals? The refurbished ones have a 90 day warranty. The new eMachines one has a one year warranty. Any input or suggestions for me?
