Dar take a look in the recycle bin, you may be lucky and they are still there. If so right click on them and click to restore them to the original location.

Have you considered that perhaps the folder ended up inside another folder, and you don't know it? that has happened to me several times, do a search in the start area, you might find it, or else you will have to look thru each folder, and sometimes this is the only way.

They aren't in the recycle bin.. already looked.
I opened all up in organize bookmarks & didn't see them..
I'll look again as that has happened to me before too..

I lost 2 folders.. I wouldn't have moved 2 folders into an folder accidentally. They were both in the toolbar folder.
I looked through all the bookmarks I saved in html on my flash drive..that opens all the folders & they aren't there.. I'll make it without those folders.. at least I have some of them saved but none saved since March. I have them saved now on 2 flash drive...will save more often.

this is why I urge using xmarks which can be used on pretty much all browsers, you will not lose any book marks they are on their server as well as on your computer and if your computer burps or you get a new pc all you have to do is sync it up to xmarks and poof they are all back again.

I installed xmarks but don't understand one thing..
I bookmarked this page. Of course it is in my bookmarks but how do I get it to show up on xmarks? I think when I learn to use it I'll really like it.

You didn't say whether you searched the system by using the folders' names as the keywords.

If you are certain they are gone you could try the free application Recuva. It is from the same purveyor as CCleaner. It has a wizard, and it may assist you in recovering them. I have had moderate success with Recuva, and it doesn't conflict nor do I have any negative experiences.

you will have a little blue box with an x in it down at the bottom of your browser on the task bar that is the xmarks if you click it you will be asked if you want to synchronize say yes then it will sync with your xmarks website and also with any other computers you have it set up and linked to that account. You can also change the settings there in the options, you can set it to auto update the sync or to sync on closing etc.Just right click down on the icon and choose settings, I do not have mine show the stars just the icon. On mine when I see a yellow * beside the blue icon it means I have unsynced bookmarks.

I do not allow it to save my passwords though just my bookmarks

Raven I THINK I have it figured out now. No I didn't save passwords either also got rid of the yellow ones. I don't recall seeing a yellow * but will look when I add a bookmark.

NOW if I can just learn to use Thunderbird 3.1. I am beginning to wish I hadn't installed it. I can't get back to the inbox without Xing out the message then it takes Thunderbird completely out.
Maybe I need to start a new post on that.

Never mind.. I saw an arrow to scroll to the left & found the inbox button in Thunderbird 3.1 ..
I also see the yellow * in Xmarks. I added a site to see if it was there.. it was :)
Right now I'm happy.. (till the next problem) ..what would I do without all of You.
