Where do I look on Windows XP to see what version of firefox I am currently using?

open the browser and click on help, then "about Firefox. I have w 7 but maybe the same instructions.

I posted a (at least temporary) workaround for Firefox users here: https://www.gardenweb.com/discussions/5343325/use-alt-f4-to-close-all-the-windows#n=6 The gist of it: about:config?filter=browser.link.open_newwindow - Set browser.link.open_newwindow to one - Set browser.link.open_newwindow.restriction to zero Info obtained from: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/970999 It's possible you'll find changing the settings affects behavior on other sites and you'll not like it but it's every bit as easy to change them back. (Just right-click the preferences and select "reset". Even better than browser specific workarounds would be if/when Houzz fixes it... but in the meantime, one does what one has to do. :-) BTW, "alt F4" does not work for me. It closes every tab including the very last tab so Firefox closes down completely. Apparently it works for some though.

Are you running Avast antivirus? If so, the advisory is related to it. I got that advisory after an update a couple years ago. Fixing it requires removing a Registry key. Uninstalling Avast does not remove the key. Do so at your own risk if you aren't familiar with Registry editing procedures ... there is no undo if you make a mistake (unless you know how to export/save a copy of the key being deleted). Depends on the details of what's happening but an out-of-date security certificate may not be the fault of the browser. The bank's IT dept or the tech people who manage the online banking server buys an SSL certificate from a CA (Certificate Authority) and installs it on said server, and are responsible for renewing it when it expires. The server's certificate may have coincidentally expired when you updated Firefox. That being said, there have been cases of an outdated certificate authority being "on file" in the browser, or even in the (presumably Windows) OS. Does the problem occur with other browsers on the same computer, or with any browser on other computers? Perhaps ask the bank for their input on the situation. You didn't provide the URL for your bank access so others can check if they get the warning at the log-in page. You can view certificates on-file in Firefox via Tools / Options / Privacy & Security / Certificates / View Certificates / Authorities. Select one in the list and double-click it or click View to examine the details.

Can you tell me how to find out what version of Internet Explorer I am using?

Thank you everyone for your quick feedback. I will write this information down as I have needed to know it several times and did not know how to find it.

Now hopefully, I can follow the instructions to see if I can get my Real Player download software working for my video MP4.

The "About " entry on a application Toolbar is almost a universal location for finding version information. There at times can also be links to update inquiries and homepages.

I appreciate the information, I did not know anything about the "about" entry.

Now, that I know all this hopefully it will be the same when I change to Windows 7 later this year.
