Here is the listing from whocrashed. I see that it refers to avast antivirus. When I initially tried to install my new IE* I believe that I had disabled Avast for 10 minutes. But I admit that I have forgotten to disingage it in all of my other actions. I will send this and perhaps I will have time to use your routine above to try uninstalling ie8 again with avast disabled and get back again. If I had any sense, I would have tried system restore. I haven't really done that much with this computer and it likely would have done the trick in the first place. Hi everyone, This is very informative and from what I've read, it said nothing about removing IE7 and it makes sense to me that if you would remove IE7 and then put in IE8 and you didn't like it you wouldn't be able to go back to IE7 because you removed it. Hi Owbist, Do you have an external drive or second internal drive to which you create backups of your computer? If so the answer is quite simple methinks. Backup the whole computer. Install IE8 and test it. If it fails miserably, which it probably will not, then you can restore the backup and carry on as you were. If your version of IE8 is from yesteryear then use the link below and grab the latest version. Thank you for that information and thank you for the link to the download. No I don't have an external hard drive, I've looked them up but, didn't know which one was the best one to get or how large of a one I would need. Hi everyone, I found this on a website that tells you how to do it in Firefox. Open up FireFox and then go to view, then go to Zoom and you can Scroll down and select the 'ZOOM' option, then slide across, then down and select the 'ZOOM TEXT ONLY' option which should put a check mark by it. Now scroll back up and select the 'ZOOM IN' option to enlarge the text that you view on any website. Each time you go back and select the 'ZOOM IN' feature, the text will get larger. If you want to make the text smaller then go to Zoom Out And to get back to where it was before you started simply select the 'RESET' option. I did that here and it has stayed where I put it. You can do this as you move from site to site and it will stay the same as long as you have the check mark in "Zoom Text Only" That is what I found in my search, you can check it out to see what you get, so far this has worked. thirdfrt!!!
