Thank you, daylilydazed, for the heads up about checking the web AOL spam folder from time to time. This is such a great group of people. You are willing to share your time and talents and it is greatly appreciated. One more question. If I wanted to add my husband's AOL screen name so he can use Thunderbird, too, do I just go through the same steps I went through to set up the account? Hi Zep, Well, I learned how to paste a print screen image into a post. :) I had already changed my "sents" to go to the local folder and had added a folder for Sents other than the default. Does this look right? The article still doesn't explain why my posts aren't being sent/timing out. I really love Thunderbird, but I'm afraid I might end up being a yahoo customer. :)

Hello, You will probably need to set up the account on the new computer if you have not tried it, open thunderbird now click the tools tab, here are settings for rr: Incoming (POP3) Mail Server: pop-server.sc.rr.com Outgoing (SMTP) Mail Server: smtp-server.sc.rr.com News (NNTP) Server: news-server.sc.rr.com Server settings for former Adelphia Customers: Incoming (POP3) Mail Server: pop-server.roadrunner.com Outgoing (SMTP) Mail Server: smtp-server.roadrunner.com If dh was assigned an e-mail address with rr, he can use that for thunderbird, for more information Google "Set up Thunderbird e-mail" If you want to change e-mail address may have to contact rr.

Thanks, I think I can now recall that when Thunderbird logs onto an email server and doesn't have the password, a dialog box comes up asking for the password. Once given, then, it seems Thunderbird remembers. mona, thanks too, but I'm not trying to change my password on the server, just trying to help someone else get a password into their copy of Thunderbird. In trying to help I found on probing through my Thunderbird that is has both my log on and password, but I couldn't find anyway to load the password. Seems day... has a method.
