Go to the Gallery and look at Renee's pictures. Love her gardens. As I have said, pretty much all of the garden is separated by plant type only because I don't have the space. I really need to redo my beds but since I don't envision this stay to last much longer, I'm waiting as I'm hoping to move them with me to a final and hopefully, permanent home with twice as much space. oh, but that really didn't answer your question. Right now must of my SDB and TB's are interplanted (just happened to work that way when the orders arrived). I'll take some pictures today as Ulalena, Little Sighs and Forever Blue are blooming today. Renee (again) would probably be a good source as to what does well in CA although I've read that CA has many USDA zones. Anyhow, I'm including some links of iris nurseries. I've ordered from Sutton and Schriener in the past and have been very pleased. Actually, I had a TB iris from Shriener that didn't survive the winter and I email as to what their policy was. They told me that they'd ship me a replacement in July. Very kind of them. This page talks about the "links" I'm referring to. It does not say how to automatically re-arrange items. When my computer went into my computer guy they were listed in the order in which I put them on the list, date order. When I got my computer back all of a sudden they are in alpha order. I kept a 3 ring binder with all of the financial and legal stuff and then another 3 ring binder for the aesthetics. I made a tab for every single room in the house. Then I created a sheet that had details like: Light fixtures, flooring, paint color, trim color, trim detail, appliances, special electrical (like dimmers, etc), I filled this out for every room and put if directly after the tab, and then used clear sheet protectors for my inspiration pictures clipped from magazines, etc. This was sometimes specific, like a bit of trim detail for a room, sometimes it was a room arrangement, paint I liked, beams I liked, whatever. I gave a copy of this book to my builder. He would call me and ask a question and I could often get out my book and tell him where to find a picture of exactly what I wanted. It really helped. It also helped me to organize myself and my ideas. I literally had a few hundred magazines with pages folded down of things I loved. I had to cut that down and organize it , no chance I could carry my steamer trunk of magazines around with me!--- I found that I had 25 pictures of staircases I liked. I only needed one, so I had to pick, or at least take the best parts of each picture and I had a clearly defined staircase.... and so it went for every detail of the house. Then I organized them per room and I was able to flip through the book and see if my "vision" all worked together. Sometimes there was an individual element that I loved in a picture, but when I flipped through my book, it just didn't make sense in the house and I scrapped it early in the process. My builder told me after the build that I was the best decision maker he has ever worked with, and I think it all had to do with taking the afternoon to get everything into an organization system that worked throughout the build. Maybe you meant strictly on the paperwork side, so I apologize if this is not part of what you are looking for! Good luck!

I keep most of my good spices on three little shelves inside the door of my freezer. Onr shelf has 7 spices that I ALWAYS use when I'm cooking Italian - thyme, oregano, sage, fennel seed, savory, marjoram, rosemary. I just used them tonight. Yanked them all out, took 1 tsp of each and added to the pot and put them back on the same shelf. I made indian curry for lunch. I just started this new little shelf - has curry, garam masala, mustard seeds, cardomom pods, cumin, coriander, cloves and cinnamon. (still need to buy asafoetida.) Numbers are marked on each label since it is not so easy as 1 tsp each. Guess I need to start a "Mexican". May use some of the duplicates. Yes, I have duplicates. I have bottled up in a ziplock bag and stored at the back of the fridge. I have a standard spice cabinet where I keep cheaper spices such as Adams or McCormic. Not too many of these. The ones I freeze are all organic with no preservatives.
