Zep, thank you for helping. Just before I read your last post I went to the Adobe forum and other people were having the same problems tonight. Someone had already posted links using a 32 bit download so I tried that and it worked and the regular Shockwave Plug in showed up on my plug in page as enabled. I don't know what 32 bit or 64 bit means or even if I need the 64 bit but I will see if this works. You helped me a few years ago with a computer problem I had so thank you again. Anne

It looks like I got the problem resolved. I used REVO to totally remove FF and all references to it, including personal settings. I opened I.E and browsed the web and all worked well. I.E. is using the FIREFOX version of FLASH PLAYER 10______.34 which I manually installed into I.E. and it accepted. I then ran the install for FireFox 5.0 As it was loading it asked me if I wanted to import settings from I.E., I opted YES, I was then asked if I would like to make FF my default, I opted YES. Once done and without making any changes or additional additions or actions of any kind, FF imported everything I had in I.E. I went to several sites I knew Flash Player would be needed and everything worked fine. It appears as I suspected, there was a toggle somewhere in FireFox that got toggled to either TRUE or FALSE. I wish I could have determined which one, to have made this problem go away sooner. If time permits, I may play with them until I can recreate the problem. go to your tools then click on add ons there click on extensions and make sure it is not showing there you do not want it,extensionÂs name and version number is "Adobe Flash Player 0.2â³.. You can also check the plugins tab for this item you do not want it there either. If you show it in your firefox extensions as shown in that first link I gave which shows the actual pictures of what you will see then you do have the infection. (the links show pictures of the add on and of the flash download) as you can see on this virus total submission of the fake file not all the security programs are catching this yet here are the ones tested and the ones that did catch it are shown File flash.exe scan result since bit defender is catching it running their free online scan is a good idea if you suspect you have it. Malwarebytes may now catch it also I know it has been added to more definitions since the time of that virus total scan, make sure all your definitions are fully updated. I would suggest anything being saved from the net would not print up nicely at all. The reason is that file sizes for web based files need to be as small as possible so the page loads swiftly. As you are probably well aware we here at the Gardenweb computer forum have members on dialup, they need to be considered. The normal resolution for web based pics is 72 dpi (dots per inch) where printing needs a minimum of 96 and more is better. This is why I always suggest taking photos at the highest resolution on a camera, we can always degrade but upgrading s not much of an option. Remember, if time is not an issue you can always play a little. Save your pic, cut out the part/s you need and save at 150 or even 300 dpi. Now bring it up to 500% of the size in your photo editing program and use the clone tool to remove some of the jaggies if they are very apparent. Save the original with an added number or letter so you do not ruin your original of course and then play with the copy.
