Need recommendations for some GOOD Kitchen appliances

My first posting. A bit complicated. A few months ago I gave away all my kitchen equipment (thought I'd never need them again. BIG MISTAKE!)

My first new purchase will be a food processor--which I can't live without. I used to have a Cuisinart Custom-Prep 11, bought back in 1993--worked like a dream. Checked Amazon. The reviewer consensus is that current Cuisinart food processors are utter crap.

I know for a fact that Cuisinart's Customer Service is arrogant and impossible to deal with. KitchenAid doesn't sound promising, ditto HamiltonBeach.

Also looked at Braun's K650 CombiMax Food Processor 600 Watts--I've had very good experience w. other, earlier Braun appliances. I want something that lasts, is trouble-free, without too many multiple uses--every kitchen appliance manufacturer seems to want to create a 'universal' machine, which is impossible!

These are my usual food-processor needs:

pastry/pasta-dough making

chopping vegs./herbs

pureeing sauces, etc.

making pesto, nut butters, mayonnaise

Indian food (so-called 'wet masalas')

I usually make a LARGE volume of food and keep/freeze it, so a LARGE capacity bowl is ESSENTIAL.

Very rarely used those cumbersome cutting disks--just the sharp cutting blade; Also liked the (separately purchased) FLAT top on my old Cuisinart--that ridiculously elaborate top w. the chute was hopeless!

I'd welcome any advice or recent real-life experiences/recommendations.
