Solid Wood vs Veneer in Bathroom...

I've been pricing slab front doors for my bathroom vanity in both solid wood and veneers. Today I was told by an owner of a kitchen/bathroom showroom that I should not consider a solid slab door in the bathroom because of humidity issues. He said other door front types are ok in the bathroom. I was not told this by the other 2 bathroom designers and am now thoroughly confused.

I live at the shore, however, I am not at the shoreline.

Anyone have any thoughts. Thanks.
