@Chris Powchuk I don't agree with that at all. I had an Electrolux front load. Crappy machine. Bio-stink built up on clothing. You would think after running a 2 hour cycle with warm water, on heavy cycle with extra rinses would result in clean clothing. Nope. The machine was also clean as a whistle inside and out. I kicked that machine to the curb and got an LG. Much better machine. Clean clothes and clean smelling clothes. So I do not believe they are all built the same or operate the same. I used to dry the boot and leave the door open on my Electrolux. Never any mold. I have gotten lazy with my LG and do not dry the boot but do leave the door open and again no mold. I run affresh on the tub clean cycle every now and then and that's about it. And top loads are not exempt from mold. I had a Fisher and Paykel top load at my previous house. That machine built up mold all around the outside of the tub where you couldn't see it but boy could you smell it. We had to take the whole tub out and drag it into our shower to clean it.

At this time I would steer clear from Bosch at this time because of current problems are starting to show its problems close to the 3-4 year marks according through THS threads and the MFG is closing down their production on some or all laundry machine according through the link below. No matter what brand of machine you purchase these days, they all will have some type of problems within a 10 year or less period. Your best bet is to look at several big box store reviews, then look at THS threads for further info on the machine that catches your eyes and then check YouTube for likes and dislike on how a machine performs. The info is overwhelming but by then you've made the right choice that fits all of your needs! I own the E-Lux Wave Touch washer and I do know of the few minor problems with my unit and I'm not ashamed to point them out! I'm not here to influence you by pushing one product over another, but you are the one in the driver seat and you have to live with a machine for the next 10-15 years from now and it's up to you to purchase a machine that makes you happy! I start with the local sale ads then go to sears.com and do side by side comparisons. You won't find a Speed Queen listed but they aren't widely available in my area anyway. I've had 30 years years of great luck with Whirlpool so have stayed with the brand. Friends with LG only ever recommended the Tromm series and everyone I've known with Samsung was unhappy within just a couple years. One of my sisters is a diehard Maytag fan (Iowa, of course) and the other is equally Kenmore-centric. When I'm doing comparisons, I'm looking for load-size because we have a king-bed and a cat so washing blankets regularly. We want a front-loader because we live in an area where water is a very precious resource and I like the less-detergent route. Bells and whistles! My Duets have sanitize, allergen, towel, delicate and cold water cycles plus others. I've used them all, especially the quick wash. My washer even has a wash/dry cycle. Even used that one once. Just because you don't use a cycle now doesn't mean you won't use it in the future. Looks. I want a matching set with no dings, scrapes or scratches. I can do that damage myself. Color doesn't matter but I did get the silver/gray set this time to match my laundry room. Back to the local sale ads. Good sale, rebate, find out all the bits and pieces you'll wind up paying for, including sales tax, delivery and installation. Start negotiating. In Phoenix, I can save 1.0% in city sales tax just shopping in a different suburb. Sears wants $30.00 per piece to deliver, Spencers wants $50.00 for the trip.

I just bought a Maytag frontload washer and dryer (5500 series) from a sears hometown store that was going out of business and I love them. Mine has an onboard heater which works great and an extra hot water setting which gets true hot water. My hot water heater is set at 140. They had a whirlpool set there but it didn’t have an on board heater which was important to me. It also looked like it was made with more plastic. I know they are built by the same company but the Maytag is very sturdy and washes well. Came with a one year warranty and Maytag offered another three year warranty for the washer and dryer for under 200 bucks. I couldn’t get a warranty from sears as they were closing so went directly to Maytag for the warranty. You have 14 days after purchase to do so. Hope that helps.
