Wake up, I and most religious groups of which I am not a member, have a right to express their views including support for a voter's proposition. As for Marriage, that "Term/Word" had a long standing definition, and it isn't any two or three or whatever can do whatever they want and call it Marriage. .If some what to do other than the traditional (long standing, how about a thousand years) meaning of the word Marriage, think up their own word. I don't lcare what they do. I am Married and I don't think I should have to explain what that means. I am not telling people what they can do I'm saying Marriage is already defined in practice and law. I am seeking an alternative to Mozilla due to that organization folding to those who would punish anyone who doesn't line up with their view, who, more than a few of us, believe the word Marriage is already in use and defined. Tax law and rights to inheritance and hospital visitor access, to mention a few, doesn't require the mutilation of the word Marriage.

I use version 2.0.0.4 which is the latest. It's under tools > account settings > server settings.

It's been working fine and normal until this afternoon, then the problems started again. It completely froze up when downloading the 3rd message. So I tried the safe mode approach. First of all, I live in a rural area not served by any broadband, so I have to use an aircard to get any kind of speed. In safe mode, the aircard wouldn't start. But I went to Thunderbird anyway and it just sat there. So I rebooted again into normal mode and went to Thunderbird. When it works OK, the screen has the little Thunderbird symbol when it's downloading my mail (the fox in the bird). When it's not doing right, there's nothing but some text there. There's also the message that it's building a summary file for the inbox, and the little wheel above is just spinning and spinning. While this was happening, I got out my ironing board, filled it with water, let it heat up, ironed 3 shirts, drained and put the iron and ironing board away and it still hadn't finished. But when it did, I then had to prompt it to get my mail and had to wait forever for all of it to download, although everything was just text except for two with a few pictures. I might mention also that when it's not working properly, this little green box appears in the tray on the bottom right, which, when I click on it, gives CPU usage. Sometimes two of the little green boxes appear. I have now spent over two hours just trying to get my e-mail, all the while my aircard is racking up minutes. I think I just want to either go to Outlook (which I've never used) or an earlier verision of Thunderbird. I just don't want to lose my address books and folders. Help!!!

klaa2, I prefer to wait the typical 3 years until Microsoft fixes all the bugs in their latest release ;) (Seriously, I don't understand why a multi-gazillion company can't put out a product that works the FIRST time.) DA, I have Open Office, on your previous recommendation. I like it, but don't love it. The commands are different enough that I have to use Help too often to figure out how to do something. (primarily in excel.) I guess I'm an old dog that's having issues with new tricks ;)
