That is gorgeous and quite different from all the usual 1x1 glass mosaics out there in both texture and color. Way, way too expensive, though.

I like the two together. Pretty granite! I already love that backsplash from having seen it with the African Ivory in the salmon colors as mentioned above. It was just fabulous with it. The harlequin tiles are small and so it is just the right size to not compete with the pattern in the granite. The tiles are mounted on 12" x 12" sheets if memory serves which made it a lot easier to install.

I'm thinking "otters" was meant to be "outers," as in perimeter. That would mean an island with white cabs and the U-shaped perimeter in dark cabs. The counters will be concrete with a marble look. On the first question of using 1" tiles on all the backsplash of a U-kitchen, I don't think I would. To me it seems like a lot of "noise" on the walls - it might seem claustrophobic. It might be better to break that block of solid color up with something else. One way is to choose a tile that has multiple colors like the ones EAM44 posted, but in your green tones. Another is to use the green as a 3, 4 or 6" strip running through a more neutral tile. I left the edges of my glass tiles exposed in both by master bathroom and the kitchen backsplash in my old house.The first time I did it I was worried it would look weird. But it looks great! Glass tiles don't have an "unfinished" edge like glazed ones do. Just grout that edge carefully, and run a bead of caulk along it, cleaning it up well so that all it does is fill in any grout lines that might be gapping in from the edges. One other thing.... Is it possible for you to remove the hood and tile up behind it? If not, make sure that you caulk the HECK out of the top edge where it meets the hood. I didn't pay close enough attention to that edge in my old house, and over the years, grease (from the air going up the hood) dripped down behind the tiles. Since they were translucent, you could see the stain, and it was impossible to clean.
