I measured all these fridges. Inside. I multiplied the inches and divided to get cubic feet. I did the same exercise for many commercial fridges too. Commercial fridges always had accurate documentation. Residential fridges never did. In commercial fridges, the stated capacity is an accurate volume number. In residential fridges, the stated capacity is just a number. Anything "nominal". Nothing related to reality. They are still being honest, since the number is a general indication of order of magnitude. It gets a bit dishonest when they start dividing the "general" and "nominal" number into decimal parts. It misleads us all into thinking there is a correlation with real capacity. Executive Summary: (Or, all you really need to know:) Inside the Summit is as much space as inside the competitors' fridges, and nobody has lied. It's either the same volume, or just about.

We have one of the 24" fully integrated Liebherrs adjacent to a 30" Thermador Freedom refrigerator. The Liebherr was installed in September '09. Yes, we love it, although the best thing about this refrigerator is that I don't even notice it's there most of the time: it's dead quiet. Since we have a full freezer in our lower level, we didn't feel the need to have much freezer space in the kitchen, although I am surprised just how much we can stuff into those three freezer drawers. Sometimes I cram in so much that it's a bit difficult to open and close the freezer drawers, but that's entirely on me. The Liebherr has become what we call our "condiment refrigerator." It holds MANY bottles plus extra milk, eggs, seltzer, and the like. I will say that right after it was installed, I was a bit disconcerted by the condensation running down the back wall even though I knew it was part of the refrigerator's normal operation. I have not noticed much, if any, moisture on that wall for quite some time which may be because most of what we store in the Liebherr is sealed. All in all, I am very happy with it, especially since it was a floor model that we purchased at a deep discount.

Many are claiming that now willinak. In fact Liebherr uses it in their advertising. For a while there seem to be a lot of posts on who could keep veggies, lettuce, meat etc etc the longest. I had seen a post somewhere about the UN advisability of doing that, something about vitamin content. Being the curious type, I decided to investigate further. Sure nuff, I found data provided by the USDA that recommended eating fresh fruits and veggies ASAP as they quickly (especially veggies), lose vitamins pretty fast! There are some folks thou, that have no choice but to keep said veggies, fruits etc for longer times--I seem to recall a post where a Lady said She can only get to the market every 2 weeks or so. Most likely, most any new fridge will keep these items "Fresher looking" maybe even more chrisp, than the fridge it was replaced with. Most the new fridges have better insulation (to meet energy requirements) and due to better controls (Electronic sensors) etc, they maintain temps with less variation than did the old fridges. If you check around here, You will see folks that say their new Liebherr, or their new Jenn-air or their new GE, You name it and you will find it here, --keeps their food fresher than their old fridge did. To make a statement that an SZ keeps food fresher than X or Y fridge, they would have to be right next to each other, both set for the same temp, and the same food put into both at the same time. I can tell you, in the 4 years I've had the Jennair It is almost always at 37F in the fridge compartment and that display actually shows the inside temp of the fridge. I suspects many of the other do close to the same thing too. So far, I have only seen SZ and Liebherr touting "The long lasting produce capability" in their On-line and written adds, but I suspect you will probably hear it about other brands from the Salesman--and whatever Fridge He happens to be pushing @ that point in time. Sorry I didn't read your first post carefully... now I see you are OK with dual evaporators as well. Those aren't too hard to find with freestanding fridges. Dual compressors, however, will be a rarity unless you step up to a built-in. Samsung has dual evaporators on a bunch of models other than the Chef collection you mentioned. GE has dual evaporators on all their 36" french door models, not just Monogram. I have had the new Profile since 2012 when they came out (although not counter depth) and it's been great.
