Comments (24)artieange shop around and ask the dealer where you are buying your appliances if he has floor models or S&D's. Our GE Mono fridge was a floor model at $2450 and the freezer was a S&D for $2650 (which didn't matter as we tossed the panels it came with anyway). It was a much better deal than the SZ and we are very happy with them. We would NOT have spent $8000 on them! No way!! No how!! In fact we were planning on the Electrolux when these practically fell into our laps....See MoreAll-Refrigerator/ All-Freezer: Frigidaire, Electrolux, Icon
Comments (20)We have the Kenmore Pro ones (like these) which I think are made by Frigidaire. (?) We've only had them installed for 2 months, but before that they sat for 2 years in our dirty garage -- long story -- so we were a little worried about how they would work after sitting for all that time but bottom line, no problems, and we're thrilled with them. For the price they can't be beat. There are two slightly odd things about them however. One is that there's no meat drawer, which I was used to in our other fridge and I do miss that. There are two HUGE drawers which I love having, but we fill one with fruits and the other with veggies, so then I just have meat on one the shelf above the drawers, which is okay but I would rather have a drawer for it. The second odd thing is that the shelf structure above the drawers are actually attached to the drawers themselves and they don't seem to come off for cleaning. The glass itself lifts out, but the surrounding shelf frame doesn't detach from the drawer (at least that we could figure out!) which makes it awkward for cleaning as you can't just turn it upside down into your sink and dump out fallen particles. Those are very minor inconveniences for the space and convenience (especially the freezer space which is incredible), and overall I love these appliances and I would get them again in a heartbeat....See MoreFrigidaire 'Twins' & Electrolux all-frig/all-freezer
Comments (14)For what it's worth, we've had more problems with Frigidaire refrigerators in the last two years than with all other appliances combined. Their ranges and microwaves are good products, but their reefers and dishwashers are very poor quality. Years ago, when they were part of GM, they were an awesome product. Too many people still remember (or still have) those products. It's not the same today. I have to agree. We have a Kenmore upright freezer whose insulation shrank, sucking the interior sides with it. As a result, a couple of the shelves fell down. We traced the Sears part number to Gibson, which is owned by Electrolux and apparently assigned to their Frigidaire group. After being burned on that freezer, we won't buy anything made by Electrolux....See MoreElectrolux vs Frigidaire ALL Freezer/Refrigerators
Comments (5)We were able to find the Frigidaire All freezer/frig combo in stock and on display at a appliance store about 70 miles from us - we drove up, took a look at them, and bought them. They are in storage right now, so I have no idea how they will work once installed, but we were impressed with them enough to buy them. Comparing the specs of the Elextrolux, and seeing what looked like more reported problems with them, we were happy to go with the "lower end" Frigidaire. Time will tell if we were right! The other plus is the Enegry Star rating, and the ice maker (we didn't want a water dispenser)...The ice maker is the simple type in the top corner and takes up little space. The best is the price for how much space you gain....See Morelfielder54
