My point is that if you've followed similar threads about popups on GW, like the one on the tomatoes forum, and made any of the adjustments to get rid of popups, (it sounds like you didn't, maybe that's why it loads your pages slower), then you'd be about the same as Firefox, without any popups or having to add plugins. For example, many IE users go to Tools, then click "Block Popups." But did that IE user ever choose "Popup Blocker Settings?" There, you can choose Filter level: High (block all popups." You can also disable Shockwave ads by going to Manage Add-ons : Enable or Disable Add-ons, and choose Shockwave in the list and choose Disable. Only after I did these 2 things I get no more Honey Bunches, feminine napkins, etc... Also, with ZAP, you can enter the URL's and choose to disable settings for each, like popups, banner ads, 3rd party cookies, js & vbscript, embedded code, web bugs, private headers, etc. Not to mention antivirus features, worms, malicious port attacks, (you do know you just need to be connected to the internet, even with NO browser open to get hit, right?), trojan horses, etc.

It is the most obnoxiously intrusive ad I have seen. I have tried to scroll up to the x to close it, but it won't let me-it keeps bouncing back to the center. Don't the idiots that designed or bought the ad realize it has the opposite of the intended effect? I wouldn't buy the product for any reason. When clicking return to Hosta Forum it restarts the pop up ad, so I have been using the back arrow instead. Les

clearing the cache on IE has nothing to do with firefox you must clear them in firefox also, are you using the latest version of firefox? to know the version at the top click on help and about firefox. To clear the cache in firefox look under tools and see if you have an option there that says clear recent history near the bottom of the list, if yes click that and a box opens asking what all you want to clear I clear everything but the site preferences on mine also at the top of that box is a time range with a drop down arrow you can choose everything. The other way to do it is go to Tools Preferences/options then the security tab check where it says clear history when firefox closes then over to the right click on settings in that box select what you want to clear you can then close firefox and open it and it will clear all that you selected, now if you do not want it to do that every time you close firefox go back in there and un check to do it every time firefox closes, or just select for it to clear the cache each time it closes which is what I do. I agree with Bob414 it sounds like you have that page set to always open in IEview in your firefox browser you have to change that setting or it will continue to do that.

I use the Sea Monkey browser and it has a small plug in called Adblock . It blocks most pop ups by blocking the content from displaying. You might want to try it.
