Open one browser...go to the page...highlight the URL...right-click and copy(or CTRL+C)...open the other browser...right-click and paste into the URL bar (or CTRL+V)...press enter and go to the page...bookmark it in the other browser.

shaddy there is a great add on that you can put on both firefox and Ie which will sync all your bookmarks between all of them even on other computers if you have more than one. Plus it keeps your bookmarks safely saved in case your computer crashes you never lose your bookmarks. It is called xmarks, I have been using it for years and love it. Just install it on both of your browsers, create your page on the xmarks site (be sure you save your name and password you want to be able to remember those) and tell it to sync your browsers on your computers, then after it is installed it will automatically add new ones as you go and put them in both. Super easy to use basically just install and go

Short of doing them one by one I don't see a way of saving the IE ones to FF.

What you could do though is back up both your IE and FF Bookmarks and favorites using the FF add-on Xmarks.

It will back them all up and synchronize them all automatically.

Raven, I am some what anxious when it comes to some of these programs, not because of what they do, but how to handle them, and how to go about, could you splain to me slowly how to get this set up and going on my machine? Sounds great, but also wonder does it take a lot of resources to support it, and also, what to do with the bookmarks already stored?

no it does not take resources since it is only being used when you add a new bookmark then that is when it will do the sync so that it puts it on all of your browsers.

It is just an add on you add to your individual browsers so very easy to do. Your bookmarks that are already stored will all be there on all of your browsers it will take what you have on both browsers and make it one basically, so that no matter which browser you are on you will see all of your bookmarks.

It will also store all of your bookmarks on your own bookmarks website which you can access by using the name and password you create so that even if you are traveling and using someone else's computer by going to your bookmarks website you can have your own bookmarks handy to use.

This might work for you, Shaddy. Open IE browser. Press F1 key for help. In IE 8 I get the following screen:

Type import/export in search window (You can see where I typed it in pic.) Press Enter. The following are the results in IE 8:

Click import or export favorites in Internet Explorer.

Select import favorites and follow directions...

abreeze, thanks so much for your help, it works, and I have done the deed, as well as what raven suggested, gonna have my bookmarks one way or another. Even tho I have far too many, I still try and weed them out from time to time.
Those baby steps were just what I needed, and I thank you sooo much for your kindness. Raven, need to know more info about this Xmarks now, how do I use it, tried the video, the speaker was not very understandable, so I really didn't get much out of it. Tho I appreciate your efforts, you are always ontop of computer stuff and appreciate your interest in helping those of us less fortunate!!!!!!!!
