Go to "tools/options/content/ for font and size choices. You can also press the Advanced Button in that window. The size will stay as they are set. Verdana font is easier for me to read.

Or, the plus and minus keys on the number pad in conjunction with the control key.

I do experience some inconsistencies with some sites. For example I have never gotten all Netflix pages to appear readable without changing the zoom temporarily for some pages.

I agree with jean mi. Set the default font at verdana size 20 or even larger if needed. Easy on my old eyes.

I have Firefox. You can also enlarge the font by clicking CTRL and the + sign. Keep hitting the + sign until it is large enough. To get it small, hit CTRL and -. I use it all the time.

shax doing it in the actual settings for firefox is the best way for him to do it so that it will display that way consistently on every site as his IE did.
Just change the font size and type and click apply ok.
Tools/options/content as stated.

I have passed on the info to my Dad, who seems to have blundered his way into some sort of satisfactory resolution. He has a young mate down the road (only 83 y.o.!), who does seem to know his way around a computer. Unfortunately, he hates Firefox (calls it Mozzarella!) and is set in his IE ways, but has cobbled together something for Dad.

Next time I visit, I'll double check, and also install 3.5.1!
