Yes, the mega roll will fit. It may be a little tight at first, but just a few uses and all is well. I usually use the double roll, but bought the mega roll once and it was fine. Even squesszed it into my recessed holder in my other bath. Someone on this forum suggested mounting the holder with the bar upright as the natural tearing of the paper is downwards and thus the problem of the roll sliding off the bar is eliminated. This made sense, but I haven't had any problem with the normal mounting- though as the roll gets smaller it does come off the bar more easily. Pam

Jasdip, the answer is YES! Now, for this purported issue of can't find the end... Sheesh! 96% of the time it's right there! LOL Staring right at you. How can you NOT find it? It doesn't normally tear off behind the roll like when put on incorrectly. And a little tip, start turning the roll, and you'll usually find it. There's the hint for the day. And I have to wonder, if you can't find the end of the toilet paper with both hands, can you find the other end??? :) I should start selling a new toilet paper product for you people who can't find the end. Pop-up cheek scrape. Works like facial tissue. Set it on the floor, the vanity, edge of the tub or the back of the terlit. But then there's always those who insist on being backward and have it come from the bottom of the box. But that's their problem! :)

This chart is from 2013 and shows the percentage allocation of various rooms for new builds. I will have about 2200 square feet on the main floor and 2000 finished in the basement. At only 16*16, my master bedroom is small according to this chart...however that is in part due to we chose not to have a separate “sitting area” as we will have the master deck to serve that purpose 9+ months out of the year. DH actually wanted a full wrap around porch. That is the only thing I vetoed. (He did not want a deck blocking his living room view though). I would imagine he will hang out in the master deck a lot watching for wildlife. For a 3,000+ finished home, it shows a master bathroom of 210 sq feet, mine is 194. For the same size home, it shows closet space of 201. That is about the size of both master closets. I would assume that the 201 must mean ALL closet space in the house. I am hoping for 5*8 closets in each kids rooms as I like to keep most of their toys organized in the closets. That would be 120 sq feet right there....so I may be over the closet sq footage, but Considering most homes lack storage, I am not worried there! My closet is probably the only one that is truly questionable. But I know lots of gals truly enjoy a nice closet space. I doubt I am taking away anything from my husbands’ life by having some extra space here. My pantry space is way out of whack also, but given that we will have a huge garden plus an orchard, I will actually need a basement pantry or an outside root cellar. The only room that we want that we may not get a dedicated space for is an exercise room. I am hoping the basement works to get a defined space for that, but it may get merged with the guest bedroom. We could get it by making the kids rooms smaller. But our current house has a 13*16 room that we turned into a bedroom for our oldest. It is such an awesome space! Our kids have friends over often, and we want them to be able to hang out with large groups in their own rooms (if that is where they want to be). Later, the barn will serve this purpose during warmer weather. In the few years we have been here, my oldest has had 10 girls sleepover each birthday. Her room was large enough to have all those girls have a blast. I am one of the few moms I know who allows that many to stay over. (DH hides in the cabin!). I would imagine my youngest will have a minimum of 15 for her sleepovers when we build. There are 3 times as many girls in her grade and she is more socially active. So I wouldn’t be surprised if we didn’t have a 20+ group for a birthday sleepover. I can’t wait to have the space for that!

Our great room (living room) is 20x20 and is definitely too small. But I am probably not a good one to give input on this (but I will anyway). I love large rooms with lots of space to maneuver and don’t care for a room that looks and feels like it’s been crammed with lots of furniture because it’s too small. In our space we have seating that can basically fit 6 comfortably (we have a large sofa, 2 club chairs, and one other chair). For just our immediate family though, if we are all gathered together, we would need 10 seats, so we are 4 seats short. Now add to that larger get-togethers, and we are really lacking in seating. Obviously, if you have 40 people over you will not be able to seat everyone, but it’s nice (at the very least) to be able to accommodate your immediate family so that everyone has a place to sit down in the living room. So.....if I had to do it over, I would definitely make our main living space at least 25x25 (and that’s just the living room with no added eating area). With that size, there could even be a small game table spot. I think it’s important to take into account how much seating you feel you need for your family (and guests if you entertain a lot), and then from that point design a room that will easily accommodate the furniture needed to seat your family and friends.....especially if you only have this one room. So, my mentality is to make the room large enough so you’re not squeezed in and to make sure there is ample square footage to accommodate the needed furniture.
