Today I was typing on a forum- when I got kicked off, and a message came up that said because I on a 'chat site , signed on by another computer'. That scared me, because I wasn't. I checked my firewalls, my daily scans came up ok- I don't belong to any 'chat' groups.

How do I do 'event/view log', and what do I look for to see if there is a problem. I am at least 1500ft from the nearest neighbor.

Janie, I was reading your post and laughing so hard that I was crying. I know exactly what you mean about being afraid of snakes. I know my snakes, but I don't care! I hate snakes, the good and the bad. We have so many snakes down here and with all of the development taking place, we are seeing more and more. My neighbor killed a copperhead Saturday, and my other neighbor saw a rattler up near her house. Last year I killed two coral snakes up close to my front door. I don't bother snakes unless they come into my yard and house. Yes, I have had ribbon snakes get into my house on 3 separate occasions, and one time a garter snake got in and the cats found it and took care of it. Scary! Finally my DH got me a little pump 4-10 with snake shot. Well he was the first one to use it to kill, what he thought was a water moccasin, out on the pier. He killed the snake and left a few marks on the pier from the pellets. And yes Janie, keep us informed on your future antics!

I finally had the opportunity to watch it tonight, having taped it earlier. I told my husband that we were going to watch it tonight and he exclaimed,Â" IsnÂt this the 49th version of Jane Eyre that you have seen?" Now that may be an exaggeration but I have seen all the movie versions of the novel. For me it is like having a vase of all my favourite flowers and hiring ten different but talented artists painting it. All unique interpretations of my flowers, but each one enjoyable for its perspective. That is the way I looked at this production; and I did enjoy it tremendously. But IÂve liked them all for various reasons. I thought the atmosphere was very well done. It captured that solitary feeling that was so very much part of JaneÂs earlier years. For example, I really felt her emotions when she first arrived at Thornfield Â that lantern was the only comfort in what was a strange and intimidating environment. So much remained dark and mysterious, illuminated only by candlelight or fire. As for Rochester, he was younger and more vulnerable looking than my mindÂs version but that was OK Â they had definite chemistry, so I forgive JaneÂs only claim to plainness which was heavy eyebrows. IÂve always liked the bedroom scene after Jane rescues Rochester from the fire, "You are leaving me, now, must you?" I told my husband that I would have been totally weak-willed and would have tackled ole Rochester to the bed at that pointÂ and, alas, the novel would have ended then, being far, far removed from the classic that it is today. They cheated on the gypsy in this version, though. I prefer Rochester in drag. IÂm glad I taped it so that I can rewatch it . And if someone decides to produce Version #50, IÂll set my TV to record.

Because I grew up in So Cal and lived there till I was nearly 30, I saw and met and had random encounters with celebrities all the time. Some of my favorites were when I worked for a catering company that did the wrap party for a movie Bill Murray was in in the late 70's. He ended up hanging out with a bunch of us young people and telling jokes. One night while out for dinner at a thai restaurant, my boyfriend and his friend, who were in a band, started singing a Doobie Brothers song, and then the bass player for the Doobies came over and sat with us, he was laughing at the guys and decided to join us. I was a mail carrier in the area near Universal Studios and I had many celebs on my route-Robert Blake once invited me in for breakfast; the guy who played Gary on Knotts Landing always greeted me very pleasantly. I saw Mark Harmon at McDonalds (Swoon), Ed Asner was nice to me, and he lived in a simple suburban cottage! But the one who really bothered me was Eric Estrada. EVERY TIME I'd deliver his mail, he'd be standing at his mail box and would try to flirt with me. I once yelled at him because his dog jumped in my jeep and he coudln't apologize enough. I'd see him at the grocery store all the time too. He's just as smarmy as you can imagine. My personal fave is when I was standing on line at a deli and started chatting with a tall, skinny blonde guy. We chatted about random stuff for about 10 minutes and I kept thinking "I know him from some where" but I wasn't going to ask who he was. Later, when I got home I realized it was Tom Petty! My family has a long history of theater, music and working in Hollywood. My uncle has a special effects company and he specializes in explosions. He's won an Emmy and is very good friends with a famous director. He works on several TV shows currently. But my biggest claim to fame-my Great-great Aunt was the Italian lady who Lucy Ricardo stomped grapes with in the famous I Love Lucy episode. Her son, my father's cousin, was in the band Climax-their most famous song was Precious and Few. Aunt Teresa was actually an opera singer!

Even in my more temperate climate the clerestory windows, which are just panes of glass set into a wooden frame, aren't helpful with temperature extremes, and they tend to crack, as seen in some on this house. The open sheathing uninsulated roof did not do much for climate control either. I had to insulate from the outside, and I am slowly replacing the windows, although the wall of glass on the top floor is going to be a challenge. It has already been filled in with vinyl replacement windows, which is better for insulation but they look terrible. The original glass going to the very edges is much nicer looking but it's going to be expensive to replicate in something insulated.

Here it is-it came up again. 'You have been disconnected from chat because you have signed in Yahoo Messenger from another computer or device.'

And you do not have yahoo messenger installed on this computer?

What about Yahoo E-Mail,if so;

I think it is a bug, since they added chat to the online email. They should fix this soon because of all the wasted bandwidth in sending out this popup to everyone.

If you have Yahoo Mail with chat and the desktop Yahoo Messenger, you cannot be signed in to both.

When Yahoo detects that youÂre already signed into Yahoo Mail with chat and you sign in to your Messenger on your desktop, Yahoo will disconnect you. ThatÂs why you get that message that you are signed in to another computer.

You must disable chat in your Yahoo Mail if you want to use your desktop Messenger, by doing the following:
See the smiley face next to your user name at the top of the mail page? Click it Â then click Sign out of chat. (If you never signed in, the face is gray and sleeping...meaning you're already signed out/disabled.)

Since Yahoo! Mail remembers your settings from session to session, you'll be signed out of chat until you change it.

I looked at the Yahoo Mail/Messenger. By the way- I have not changed anything at all with Yahoo Mail- I have been using it for a few years, and never got this message before. I checked the Messenger- I am NOT signed in. The Smily Face is still yellow. I signed out of mail to see if any color changed but it did not. I checked again to see if I was signed in to messenger- I am NOT.

zep- I have IE. Is this bug something new? I am not the only one getting it?? I will contact Yahoo.

ilmbg the fact that you may not have changed anything does not mean nothing has changed.

In my case 2 of my computers have had all the privacy settings on Skype changed in the recent past leaving me wide open to any crank who wants to call. This was certainly not of my doing and I have auto updates on the program disabled.

I use Yahoo email only and tried Marooma's idea and sure enough my smiley went grey. Never knew about that before.

To add to this confusing topic, I now cannot open Firefox. IE opens without problems (IE8) but I get an error message when opening FF. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling and still cannot open FF. Error says a file is missing.

Might run checkdisk and or system file checker;
chkdsk /f
sfc /scannow What is the filename.ext that is missing ?
