I have found adhesive useless on poured walls. The leakage at the forming joints creates ridges so the foam boards don't sit flat. There are several alternative ways you can adhere the boards to a poured wall: you can use fender washers and concrete screws on each board or at the edges to catch two boards; or use 1x1" or 2" furring strips to run across a number of boards at once; and there is one brand of XPS that has indents on each board for dimensional lumber, which can later be used to support a finished surface. If you use tongue and groove (aka shiplap) foam boards, the tape isn't necessary. But spray foam at the bottom is an effective finishing touch to conserve energy and prevent condensation on the concrete foundation walls. If you can find them--usually only from a commercial supplier--4'x4' sheets of foam board can save effort on long walls. Depending on your climate, your electrical needs and local regulations, in addition to the foam board, you may want to add a traditional stud wall to the interior with batts in the bays. Those foam cans are a mess. I'm trying to use them as little as possible. I've been schmeering latex (dap230 or something) caulk in the rim joist area with xeps. I say 'schmeer' 'cause you can't get you get the caulk gun on the bottom joint. I've been putting in several (4) blocks of 2" xps in each bay and caulking between each. I'm gonna link up with the wall foam for a continuous layer - that's the plan anyways. You go through a lot of caulk, plus it's taking forever. I'm committed now though and stubborn. You're supposed to use non-petroleum based products with the foam, but I found the polyurethane foam was real stiff, and with all the schmeering with the fingers, the latex is probably better for the skin too as well as fumes and cost. I don't know if the latex has petroleum, but it doesn't appear to be melting the foam. My plan is to leave the foaming til last, since you have to use the whole can at once.

IF you have not been reading the thread on here about xp sp3 please do before you try to get sp3. IT is causing major problems on many comptuers. There is no rush to get sp3 and I personally would wait a while especially since the update centers are swamped right now. PLEASE READ up well before attempting to do this update. READ the info on which version of IE you are using, if you have IE7 installed it is advised to uninstall it prior to installing sp3. If you install sp3 and it messes up do NOT use system restore. There are repair steps to take. Please review the link to the thread here on GW for more info. blocking sp3 does not in anyway block any other updates so do not worry about that. Minnie what has you confused? did you not know sp3 had been installed on your pc? It went out through auto updates as stated in the original post. susanjn be very very happy do a little dance and rejoice you are one of the lucky ones that is all I can say. (or you have not noticed yet the effects) The horrors others have experienced are quite true and quite numerous and still happening. Anyone doing the install with out first disabling all other programs and most especially any type of security programs including AV, firewall etc can definitely expect problems. Best way to do it still is to go to the actual sp3 download site and download the full sp3 update version(NOT from windows updates), then turn off every thing on the pc or best start in safe mode and try to install. If you have IE7 you better uninstall it prior to putting on sp3 as specified in the instructions listed in an above post. I still don't have it don't plan on getting it.
