If you have a Sherwin Williams close by, take a small piece of your existing trim and a piece of the unfinished you plan to go with. I'm not an architect, so I'm not trying to drum up business, but you really do have to start with an architect. Be sure to talk about your budget from the very beginning as it is not uncommon for people to have things designed for them that they can't afford. Not to discourage you, but additions cost a lot more than you probably realize. If you do decide to consult an architect, be prepared for this project to take a long time from design to completion as quality professionals are in high demand. On your side, you should be prepared to communicate what you are looking for. It is the architect's job to solve the problems you present in an artistic, functional way. Builders are generally not artistic and some of them don't even understand function. They are not the right people to design a kitchen for example. Their job is to build according to drawings someone else prepares. A draftsman who works for a builder is also not the right level of expertise for planning an addition that will serve you for years to come and add value to your property. Lastly, you should consider moving. Perhaps you have just outgrown your house and it's time to move on. At least look at current listings in area(s) where you would want to live. Knowledge of the market will help you when deciding if an addition is a sensible idea economically.

My front porch is only 6ft wide so il be coming out with a new foundation about 5ft and 25ft down to the other corner on the right side...
