Final Push on appliances, please help

We are close to finalizing our appliance choices for a new kitchen and could use some help and quickly. We need to pick the appliances before the cabinets are ordered. I have done a lot of research but really can't decide between the following:

COUNTER DEPTH REFRIGERATOR

Electrolux E23CS78GPS (side by side)22.6 cu ft. We are hesitant about the side by side and prefer french door. ANy opinions on side by side are appreciated.

Kitchen Aid KFCS22EVMS, french door 21.8 cu ft. Do people have complaints about the kitchen aid refrigerators.

36" INDUCTION COOKTOP

Bosch NIT8653UC

Electrolux E36IC75FSS

30" DOUBLE CONVECTION OVEN

Bosch HBL8650UC

Electrolux E30EW*%EPS Pro series

Please help us pick. ANy experiences or information obtained through reading etc is greatly appreciated. Believe it or not, we did pick a dishwasher already.

I don't know if I can be of any help to you but here's what I have on order for our new kitchen remodel. I bought the Electrolux EWE3085EPS 30 inch double wall oven which it seems you are considering. I didn't pick the Turkey Probe Model from Electrolux because of the bottom rack scraping the open oven door and not being able to put the gliding rack all the way to the bottom position. I also felt I didn't need all the bells and whistles of that model. As for the sxs refrigerator, I don't like them. I bought the Kenmore Elite French Door Model 25 cu feet with the large party tray...I might add that I already had this refrig and just rebought it in stainless w/a few updates from my model. That's how much I love it. As for the 36' Induction Cooktop. I bought a Thermador. I really wanted the Electrolux Model, but did not like all the stainless steel trim around the cooktop and around the controls...All I envisioned was scratching the stainless trim ... too much of it and I would not be the only one cooking on it and being careful. Thermador has trim on top and bottom but not on the sides. I understand it is a flush mount unit, although underneath might need some clearance which could effect any plans you might have for a utensils drawer directly under your cooktop. On a side note, I love the french door refrigerators. Everything is at eye level in the frig which you utilize many times a day. The bottom pull over freezer is fine...I choose a dinner item and veg and that's it for opening it except if you need ice. I have the water inside the frig and that too is fine w/us...front stays uncluttered. We also bought a dishwasher...Kenmore model, but outside of the frig, we don't have any of these appliances delivered yet. Hope this somehow helps you.

I think we are leaning towards the Kitchen Aid counter depth french door fridge. We do have a second fridge in the garage so the loss of space from the counter depth shouldn't be a huge deal.

As for the wall oven, I will look into the model you described.

The induction is a tough call. THe electrolux looks a little bulky. In fact it appears it is thicker or higher than the others.

Electrolux has good rebates right now and I don't believe Bosch has the same rebates.

Amy, I've been shopping mowers since April (my MTD B&S still works but it's kind of on its last leg)...I can tell you that the ones you and others mentioned above are all decent if not quite good models. Right now at Home Depot (at least in my area) the Lawn-Boy 10685 (self-propelled rear wheel drive, 3-in1 bagger) is marked down to $299. That is the one I'm thinking of getting at the moment. I've used the previous model in this line and it does cut and mulch well. It would be hard to go wrong with this choice. The bag is VERY easy to attach and remove, and the handle is very ergonomic. LB is kind of the Caddy of mowers these days. You'll see some old-timers here swearing off these "new" Lawn-Boys as they are pretty enamored with LB's old 2-cycle polluters but funny thing is these new ones seem to mow just fine. If you want a Honda engine, Wal-Mart sells another version of that Lowe's model for $215 or so. Both chassis are made by companies owned by MTD, so they will mulch probably "average." High-wheel mowers aren't going to be much of an advantage as there is a lot of stress on those bolts that hold the larger wheels on...my MTD "axle" broke as a result of this, and now it's kind of jury-rigged together. If your lawn doesn't have a million twigs, roots and gumballs like mine, you might also consider getting a reel mower. No gas, noise or pollution hassles and the good ones don't need sharpening for five to eight years. I believe Brill is a good brand there and can be had in 18" or so for Good luck with your purchase!

We actually had a sub zero built in fridge at our last house. Bottom freezer with one top door. Had to be 42" but I am not sure. We loved the fridge. We were lucky that the prior owners had a service contract because it broke right away and cost 2K to fix. Anyway, we are definitely leaning to the french door fridge. I am getting the biggest french door cabinet depth fridge I can find. I think our only issue left is going Bosch or Electrolux on the wall ovens and induction cooktop.

This is just as an illustration of another way to kill the corner pantry by moving the mudroom door to a more convenient place (as far as the kitchen is concerned). It also shows the primary benefit of a three working sided island fat enough for two stools on the end. Your drawing is showing a counter depth refrigerator. In the above drawing, a full sized ref (allow for 36" of depth) could be countersunk into the wall shared with the mudroom. Whether it goes ref-pantry or pantry-ref is at your choice. The nubbin by the ref need not exist - I was thinking about a msg area or some such thing. You might have a little more room in your aisles than the impression formed by this drawing. I would adjust those so the cooktop was closer to the island and further from the dishwasher. One of the differences with tall tub dishwashers is that the doors stick further out into the aisle - so I would be sure to have a 48" aisle between the cleanup sink and the island. Again, just as an idea, I might put a drawer micro on the side of the island near the ref.

Hey folks! So here's the update: I ordered latches from House of Antique Hardware and contractor installed over range and fridge. They look great! Function, ugh. Yes, I have to turn the knob to open them...but also they won't push closed so I have to turn the knob to close them! I have some in my dining room from Rejuvenation that you can push closed, so I ordered some of those in ORB. They're very similar, but slightly different shape and darker finish than the HOAH (Rejuvenation is top and HOAH is bottom). The size seems just off enough that the holes won't line up to easily change out the latches already installed. Now what to install where? Definitely want less latches than I thought, but I need to add some to go with the ones over range and fridge. Laundry area: pulls on the lowers, then Rejuvenation latches on top (I don't think will be noticeable that they're different): Fridge wall: Pulls on the appliance garage and lower pantry doors. OK to do pull on upper pantry door? I think the door above microwave needs a latch to go with the fridge--does it need to be the HOAH? Or do you think the Rejuvenation one is a close enough match (and would be easier to use)? Range wall for reference, though the drawers are all going to be pulls Thanks in advance!
