My Sharing Folders

I downloaded some hair cut/style pictures for my son into the My Sharing Folders on hubby's & my computer, so son could access them from his computer.

They went into a compressed/zip folder & I had to "uncompress" them, which put them in another folder.

Son couldn't access My Sharing Folders from his computer, which runs the newest Windows, which I forgot the name of. Our computer runs XP.

So I tried deleting the pictures & folders from My Sharing Folders & I tried moving such, but no dice. I ended up just e-mailing them to him.

How can I get rid of these from my computer?

right clicking on each picture and choosing delete does not work? you can try dragging each picture or folder to the recycle bin.
you should be able to just right click on the folder itself and select delete and it should delete it and all contents.

I've tried both prior to posting. For the first suggestion, no delete option shows up. Not even on the left hand side in the border of options. And I get the circle with the diagonal line through it when trying the second suggestion.

make sure you are showing all your folders and go to your junk mail folder and open it and look there to see if you see any of the email there. You can help prevent that by adding their address to your address book.

Ok. I guessed wrong on IE. I should have noticed that the directory name was slightly different. I just tried it using Chorme and the directory is a web page saved in Chrome, not IE. Chrome saves the files in snopes.com Microsoft AOL Giveaway.htm_files IE saves them in C:\Documents and Settings\Brian Green\My Documents\snopes_com Microsoft-AOL Giveaway_files If you didn't save the web page, somebody else did. What's the date/time stamp on it? Maybe it was long enough ago that you forgot doing it.

Sometimes a folder will lock up and refuse to delete if you've recently opened something in the contents of the folder. It sees the folder as "busy" and will not release it until you reboot or wait some indeterminate amount of time. Try rebooting and then delete again.

I'd do what Chuggerguy (Richard) is recommending. Find out what the one you like is set to and then change the one you don't like to the same setting as the one you do like! Just play with those little buttons in the upper corner and you should be able to find out which one you like! I have Windows 10 on all my computers and it's a little different form what you would see on your Windows 7 computer. I really think Richards directions are the ones to follow and should work for what you want! I can change this in Windows 10 but there is a Tab for View at the top of the window. I then have 6 choices for different Views ( Extra Large, Large, Medium, Small, List & Details).

I fixed the problem! I had to go into My Sharing Folders all sorts of ways to delete everything but I finally made the items disappear. I think it might have finally been done through "Recent" when I acted like I was going to attach a file to an e-mail.
