Is there any way to load more then 1 pic at a time with this feature? Not sure...will upload one now, and see if after I preview I can maybe do another one...doubt it though. No, just one at a time...That's fine though... Here is another new daff bed from fall 2011. Folks often ask to see pics of my daffs in bloom, but when they are in a 'daff' bed, as opposed to being in a bed with other things, they just aren't as impressive...imho. Of course they have various bloom times too, so the whole daff bed is never 'entirely' in bloom at any one time. The brush will be cleared that is shown to the right, and the bed will be expanded to about twice the size this fall....hopefully anyway.

Posting pictures vs. posting links: USE PHOTOBUCKET, seems to work easier than IMAGESHACK [at least I think it does] Assuming you've already created an account with Photobucket: 1.In Photobucket's site, select the 'My Album' option. 2.Find and Upload an image using the 'Browse' button. When you locate the file [aka the photo you want to use] left-click to 'highlight' it's name and select the 'Open' button. The name of the file will appear next to the 'Browse' button. Select the 'Submit' button below. 3.A new window should open in Photobucket ['Current album' window] and you should see the uploaded image [you may have to scroll down a bit] ********** HERE'S THE CRUCIAL STEP --- to make sure your image will appear 'active' in your Garden Web post versus a link: BE SURE TO CHOSE THE FILE FROM THE 'TAG' SECTION/WINDOW. ********** 4.Right-click and 'copy' the file name from the middle 'TAG' window. 5.Go to Garden Web message board, right-click and 'paste' the file name directly into the "Message:" section. Because you are attempting a link directly to the slide show, instead of the image itself. When you go see the image at Snapfish, what you want to do is right click on the photo and choose 'copy image location' and then come back here and do the img src = command line, remembering to close all spaces except for the one between img and src, and put quotes around the http (image location) after pasting, then close the commands with the brackets

To woodchuck.mo: About Hydrangea color Unless a hydranagea is the standard white variety, its color depends on the PH of the soil (acidic to basic). The soil must be acidic to produce the blue color. If the soil is neutral (ph 7) to basic, the color will be pink. It works just like litmus papar in chem lab: litmus paper turns blue in acid and pink in basic solutions. It is tough in SE Wisconsin to get the blue color due to the high limestone content in our soils. Sulphur compounds are available at garden centers to acidify the soil around hydrangeas, but I have found that the recommended amount hardly affect our soils. There is too much limestone just beyond the plant's root circle. The blue to pink hydrangea is an inicator plant. It indicates the ph of your soil The beautiful blue color seen in garden centers are of plants grown in a pot where complete control of acidicy is possible. If you plant, I recommend the new variety called something like "ever summer" (not the exact name). It blooms on new wood in June whereas the standard plant blooms on 2nd year wood. Blooming on new wood was important to my hydrangea this year. The plant came out of dormancy too early this year due to our warm March. Buds swelled on the old wood and was about to break open when April freezes killed these buds. Later the stem died also, but the plant revived in May sending up new shoots from the root and these shoots have new blooms that will soon be open. Without the ability to bloom on new wood, I would not have any blossoms this year. As the blossom ages out, it turns green and finally browns in the fall. The bloom is long lasting, and new blossoms continue to appear as the older ones age out. The plant is susceptable to deer damage; the dear nip off new blossoms as they appear.
