They just closed the canal here Anne. So no more waiting for bridges, no more bridge sirens and ship horns for awhile! There had been quite a bit of ship traffic lately while they all rushed to get through the canal before it closed. Now it looks like a big ditch!

Vacuumfreak, yes, she was on a bit of a rant almost in one of the videos. She apparently was ready to pack up and move by the way it sounded, she was so sure she was going to have a show. I like to watch her and wish she'd polish them up. Having a bag of sugar out to show that she's using sugar and then going through the extremes of explaining she used half a package of something, but it wasn't this package, but it was another package, sort of like this, and she'll use the other half in another recipe... ARGH! and the expression on her face when she tries something makes me laugh, because she always looks up to the right and gets this deep concentration. You just follow her head, almost like Gustavo Almodovar. And the "uh"s. My gf and I were watching some videos and decided to try a variation of the "Hi Bob" frat game where you take a drink every time she says "uh". We both gave up after a couple videos! I also find it curious she always uses the rear left burner. Don't quite understand why someone would always want to bend over, but apparently it's what she's used to. Yes, I laugh at her more than with her but I do like her videos and to give credit where credit is do, albeit she often goes overboard, she IS very good about giving the recipe and also puts the recipe in the footer notes. She's also very good about saying cooking times and she specifies if it actually took longer or shorter than expected. She's very good looking, especially for her age. One of my real frustrations is when someone is showing a recipe or something and leaves out quantities of something or just says "my secret ingredient" without saying what it is and the like. Why bother putting it on if that's the way you do it? I forgot another one I like. Cooking with Dave. His son filled in for him one day and did a great job. Made for a great looking breakfast. There's so many that it's easy to spend an afternoon watching different ones and going to the links to others.

Pipsmom, in the Christmas dinner video you can see the 'behind-the-scenes' of the making of it. Very interesting. Freshpet is a brand of refrigerated raw pet food. It's sold at major pet stores.

I've watched those videos of abandoned homes on YouTube. I am always amazed at what is left behind and no one has come in and stolen some of the stuff or destroyed it. My mother had a friend who collected bottles....mostly beautiful perfume bottles. She had glass shelves in front of mirrors and had them displayed like that. It was a few years after she died that my sister and I went in her house. I was about 11....my sister was an adult. The house was open. Everything in the house had been left....even food in her fridge. I remember the Dr Peppers. The door was open and power was off. Everything was destroyed. Every bottle broken. Every mirror. I am sure everything had been destroyed but mostly I remember the broken glass and all of her plants in the sunporch were dead. I recall that they said she only had one son and he just left everything in the house and walked away.
