Well, I am still one of those without my personal e-mail addy listed on my member page, but can have e-mail sent to me through GW. In the past, I have had my addy listed and have had serious problems with spam mail that comes from other forums on GW. Since I post on quite a few of the other forums on GW, I found that some of them do have their fair share of spam type posts; advertising for various websites, products etc. When my e-mail addy was available for anyone to see, these posts would pop up on these other GW forums and within an hour or so I would have the spam coming to my e-mail box about the product, site etc. Once I realized where all this spam was coming from, I removed my addy from my member page, and that was the end of the spam coming from here. Hope you all understand why I no longer have my e-mail addy available to see, but as I said, you can send it through GW and I would say that 95% of the time I don't have a problem getting it. Fran

Ok, Nancy Drew (in a previous life) here. This is what I 'think' might be going one. I think there might be a problem with GW and AOL email addresses. I posted to this thread and checked the box to have follow-up replies emailed to me. I then got the follow-up reply made by gthayes in my email box. Since I didn't realize the email was not a reply to actually trade with me, I attempted to reply to the email I received from gthayes via GW system. Well...when I hit reply, my email program filled in the correct email addy, but it also filled in gthayes behind the email address. When I went to mail it, my email program rejected sending it. ishareflowers , if you reply to this thread, I will see if I am able to reply to your email, or if it is also messed up, since it is an AOL email. I've checked the box to get follow-up replies emailed to me on this thread. i cant respond to jkar either That is because you are getting follow-up replies and jkar4 has chosen to show their email address to NONE, when it would be best set to be shown to MEMBERS when using the exchanges. yep use a throw away email account in fact they have some you can use that only last for a week or so then they are deleted. I have used those a few times and it works beautifully. mailexpire there is one that I know works

zep516, I tried sending an email to myself as suggested but it was never delivered...It shows up in my "sent" files, but never came through in the "in" box, owbist, no this was an original email I sent out. I'm thinking that it could be something creeping in because I changed some settings because my ISP company has gone to a new system and I got this long email instructing me how to change some firewall setting to accommodate their new system. This morning I went back into Windows setting and set everything back to "default". I don't know if my e mail is going to work right now or not, it's something I'll have to check out. What is this GREYMAIL? I got an email this morning, something about it, I deleted it and hit "block sender and bounce to sender". any other info will be appreciated..........
