To griddle or not to griddle? Blue Star vs. Thermador

Early on in my appliance process, I decided to get the Thermador Pro rangetop so that I could have the built-in griddle. Now as all the numbers start coming in, I'm wondering if I should consider giving this up for a drop-in cooktop and have been impressed by what I've read of the new Blue Star drop-in cooktop. The Blue Star would save me about $1000--I know it sounds crazy to pay $1000 just to get a griddle (which we do use quite frequently for tortillas, quesadillas, pancakes, french toast, etc.). But my current frustration with the non built-in griddle I have is lining it up over two burners that are not BTU-equal and it looks like that is the same situation with the Blue Star. I'd be interested in hearing people's experience with using a manual (I don't think that's quite the word I want but I hope you get the idea) griddle, especially on the Blue Star vs having a built-in griddle. Thanks so much.
