Click Bookmarks/Organize Bookmarks/File/Import/From File, and surf to:
C:\Documents and Settings\YourName\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\5phazckt.default\bookmarkbackups

This has been an ongoing problem for some time. It seems that someone with that organization would make a patch for it.

hello, the machine is only 3 years old,yes i did destroy all the data on it after i formatted.i still have the larger drive but it won't read it. last night a neighbor gave me a windows 2000 disc and i formatted the drive again and it worked;it saw the full capacity of the drive and is ready to use, however when i try to bring the second drive with 225 + gigs of data on it it will not see it no matter how i switch things around bios won't read it, so i took it out, the drive i have working is set to master and is the only drive in the pc but bios says it is a secondary slave drive but it is on the primary ide channel and set to master!!everything in bios is set to auto detect drives,but as soon as i connect the other drive as a slave drive and reboot, the computer freezes and gets stuck on the post screen and hangs.funny thing is when i take that drive and put it in the hard drive enclosure that converts regular drives to use with usb and plug it into the computer i am on right now and reboot, windows comes up and says : found new hardware,mass storage usb device,your hardware is installed and ready to use,it even gives me a new drive letter,shows the drive as a western digital drive but... when i click on the drive letter it says please insert a disk into drive j....hmmm

I use the bookmark tool bar that is part of firefox. At the top you have the 3 bars above where your tabs are, the one with file, view etc, then you have the middle one and then the bottom one that bottom one is the bookmarks toolbar and you can create a folder there on that bar and store your daily used bookmarks in there, I have mine set up with several folders like forums, mail, music etc and in each folder I have my associated sites, if you just have a few sites you want to use then you can do that with out making folders, When you are at a site you want to use, use your cursor on the address bar and grab the little icon of that web address that is at the right end and drag it onto the bookmarks toolbar, then it will become a link you can click on. to create the folders on that bar just right click on the bookmarks toolbar and choose new folder, then you can change the name to what ever you want. To put a site into that folder go to the website then right click on that folder and choose add bookmark here. If you put individual sites on your bar and want to change the name or shorten it just right click on it and choose properties and there you can change that. Here you can see how mine looks click on that a couple times to get full size. Now I only have 2 bars then my tabs I did away with my middle bar so, and moved some of the stuff that used to be on the middle bar up to my top bar, so I have that and then below that I have the bookmarks bar with my folders and fave sites there. see if that would help you out

Windows Vista Recovery is a fake computer analysis and optimization program that displays fake information in order to scare you into believing that there is an issue with your computer. Windows Vista Recovery is installed via Trojans that display false error messages and security warnings on the infected computer. These messages will state that there is something wrong with your computer's hard drive and then suggests that you download and install a program that can fix the problem. When you click on of these alerts, Windows Vista Recovery will automatically be downloaded and installed onto your computer. Once installed, Windows Vista Recovery will be configured to start automatically when you login to Windows. Once started, it will display numerous error messages when you attempt to launch programs or delete files. Windows Vista Recovery will then prompt you to scan your computer, which will then find a variety of errors that it states it cannot fix until you purchase the program. When you use the so-called defragment tool it will state that it needs to run in Safe Mode and then show a fake Safe Mode background that pretends to defrag your computer. As this program is a scam do not be scared into purchasing the program when you see its alerts. To further make it seem like your computer is not operating correctly, Windows Vista Recovery will also make it so that certain folders on your computer display no contents. When opening these folders, such as C:\Windows\System32\ or various drive letters, instead of seeing the normal list of files it will instead display a different folder's contents or make it appear as if the folder is empty. This is done to make it seem like there is corruption on your hard drive that is causing your files to not be displayed. You should follow the instructions in the link provided.. Hello all... thanks for all the kind words. I am still trying to struggle through the day. Somedays I am ok, but others not that great. It was her birthday on October 20th. She would have been 64 or "39" as she would have said. We went to the park and fed the ducks... she always liked to do that. I also brought daisys and popped the tops off and placed them in the water. I miss the way that I would call her and she would be willing to go with me on what ever adventure I wanted to go on that day. She was always there for me. I know I am lucky to have a person like that and that it was my Mom, but it hurts no less. I am trying to build a new "normal". It is rough though because everything I do reminds me of her. I started to move around furniture in our house and I was thinking that everything I touched we bought together. She was a great decorator and I have no decorating sense at all. I just wonder when the feeling that I am completly lost and alone will go away. The holidays are coming and I hate it. I think we are going to plan a vacation at Christmas so I don't have to think about it. I don't know about Thanksgiving. Mom used to make the best mashed potatoes. This is so freaking hard. I think I am going to check into counseling again. It is so hard because I put on a strong face when I am out, but crumble when I get to my car or at home. I talk to my husband, but I don't think he really understands. What do you all do for the holidays?? Any ideas on how to get through them?

I have a manage bookmarks but I don't see file/Import/from file
in there. I hope their not gone forever. (sigh)

After you click Bookmarks/Organize Bookmarks,
you should be able to see import if you click file at the very top left.

Don't worry, you'll have 5 backups in the bookmarkbackups folder.

Well, I did get my favorites from IE, but not from Mozilla. I had a ton of stuff there.

Yes, Local Disk (C:), then Documents and Settings, then your User name, then Application Data, then Mozilla, then Firefox, then Profiles, then 5phazckt.default, then bookmarkbackups.

It will be like the path below,
C:\Documents and Settings\YourName\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\5phazckt.default\bookmarkbackups

randy_ca Went to profiles and this came up, leect531.default, there were no bookmark backups in there only something in wordpad, is that what you are talking about?

Your leect531.default is the same thing as my 5phazckt.default
There should be a bookmarkbackups folder. If not maybe they are gone.

Adichristi, Try doing a system restore. Just go back to a date before you know you had your bookmarks.

I got a new hard drive a couple of months ago and started over with firefox, including bookmarks. This morning I was googling a site I used to have bookmarked and couldn't find it. I did a start > search and put bookmarks in the search box. It fould lots of backups, one of which contained the bookmark I was looking for. I used it and found that the site had been removed so it didn't help me, except to let me know why google couldn't find it, but may help you.

gipster, how do you do a system restore?

bob414, I did do what you said and the search showed a BAK File, but it opened in word pad. I clicked on another bookmarks from there and they came up on Microsoft IE. Thanks everyone for the help.
