If the firewall is still running the computer will probably run slower. It's possible you now have 2 firewalls running. Not a good idea! Lets check and see. Hello again nice people, I have a question. Since Zep has led me through so many steps and has helped me clean up some of the junk on my computer my question is this. What will the results be if I can find no way to get Java downloaded? Is it absolutely necessary that Java be on the computer for things to work right. I see no results from NOT having it, other than not being to play some games, I play most any game I want without any trouble, most of them very graphic. I still need to delete the Firefox Beta version and keep the right version, but I've got to straightened out the shortcut Icons on my desktop, they're both intertwined. Other than that I don't seem to be having any problems. I don't know if there is something else on the Hijack list that needs to be addressed, Zep didn't say so I assume that there is not. I did get the problem with Incredimail straightened out. That also was a register error. After today I am headed for hopefully a wonderful trip to Yellowstone National Park. I will check on this thread as soon as I get back to see what you think about leaving well enough alone. Thanks again for your time and sharing your knowledge.

it seems to be related to having OE6 and IE7 and with xp sp2. this is a work around. Right-click the embedded image as you normally would, but instead of choosing Save as..., choose Copy. Then open MS Paint, go to the Edit menu and select Paste. That should paste the image into Paint, and then you can save it. (You could probably use any photo program) Best fix quit using IE and move to firefox problem solved. Try deleting IE's cache from Tools, Internet Options, click the Delete Files button under Temporary Internet Files. Go back to the site where you were saving the 'pics' from and try right clicking them and choose 'Save Image As' These were pictures on websites? not in email? this problem is normally in email pictures and it is a pretty old bug, have you done all your IE updates? As Randy said don't bother trying to find the file because it does not exist, MS knows this and has some articles about it but no fix listed that I have found other than uninstalling IE7.

Here is a link to Firefox and pages not loading properly. One of the many possible problems cited may be the add-ons and plug-ins but suggest you take the steps from the top. In your statement of your problem: 1-Error includes the word "chrome" and if that is Google's Chrome you might consider taking care of Chrome at least temporarily. (I avoid using Chrome because I am somewhat paranoid when it comes to Google and accusations of misuse of its data collection.) As to slowness of browsers, you might also look to make sure you do not have too many programs loading when you boot your computer.
