If you haven't already done it, you might want to check the latest Consumer Reports ratings, which you can usually get hold of in your local public library. Although that's not the last word, it could help in giving you focus.

I am also having a hard time limiting my choices as well and read a phrase somewhere in here "analysis paralysis" that describes where I was at. I found a trip to physically look at the items helped refine my choices and if you can get to a brick and mortar store and look it may help as sometimes the decision making is really splitting hairs when you get down to a size, stye and price range.

In general Whirlpool and Kenmore are very reputable. You probably wont go wrong with either. I haven't paid any real attention to Amana so dunno.

We recently bought a Frigidaire Gallery about that size but a bit shorter. Unlike most smaller refrigerators, it has glass (vs. wire) shelves and a split shelf so it can accommodate something really tall if needed. It also has adjustable shelves on the door and an adjustable shelf that spans the width of the freezer. Unfortunately, the Frigidaire web site doesn't show the interiors so we had to visit several stores. The features I mentioned were important to us, and we couldn't find another fridge to fit the wimpy dimensions we have unless we were to remove some cabinet trim. In a perfect world, we would have bigger crispers, but that would mean the compressor would be elsewhere. Where? Also, I wish the fridge were a bit quieter.

The one we replaced was a smallish 6 year old GE bottom mount freezer which never got cold enough and was starting to give us problems. The freezer door would bounce open any time the fridge door was slammed.

Don't forget Samsung, steadily rated well for refrigerators.

I think quite a few people here have recommended AJMadison's site for its excellent search capabilities. I don't know about buying from them but I have found it very useful in my various appliance searches.

You may have probably bought a new fridge already. But if you haven't yet, between Whirlpool and Kenmore, I'll go with Whirlpool. But what I have is a Panasonic. Working for 2 years now with no complaints.
