What do I have to do to scan from side to side to....

see all of what-ever is on my screen. I am tired of having to move that bar on the bottom of the screen to see everything. It used to not be like this. What happened? What can I do to fix this? I have changed font sizes, this did nothing to help. Thanks in advance, Pk

On the right hand bottom corner, does it say 100% or what? If it is more then 100%, you need to click on it and go back to 100%

What size and type of monitor do you have? Determine the size and whether it is a CRT or LCD monitor. Below is a table of resolutions for 5 X 4 CRT monitors. If your is a 16 X 9 LCD take a look at the paperwork that came with it and set accordingly.

To check what you have right click on the desktop, click Properties, click Settings and see what the screen is curretly set to.

Old walkway was made of grass and tapered. I agree, I like it to be uniform width and yes, curved. Our plan is to replace the brick with concrete in the spring so we don't want want to use brick for this pathway - maybe flagstone as it was suggested? Do you use landscape edging with flagstone if I use grass or another ground cover as the "filler?" What about if we used decomposed granite? And you are correct - relationships are far more important than landscaping which is why I'm struggling with the pros/cons of the situation. Steps are crumbling behind containers on steps which is why these containers are there. I didn't want anyone to walk on the crumbling parts anymore - steps to be replaced in the spring and containers removed at that time! (maybe nice/more plants in them would help until then though?) Yes - trellis/arbor posts are the gate posts and not changeable - even adding 2 more posts is out of the question. (I originally wanted 4 but they nixed that idea...) Karin - I'm intrigued with the string idea. So you are saying to put string from the other posts on the ends to the tip of both sides of the trellis/arbor? (note there will eventually be caps on the post next to the house and the one on the corner - just an fyi). Do you think cutting the crossbar so it isn't 12 inches wide would help? And then maybe putting it up not as high up above the gate? Another idea many have suggested is altering the gate but I'm not sure how hard that is for the guys to fix so I'd have to look more into that. There are 2 strap hinges but they covered part of the top one w/ the board across the top. We don't have a handle or latch on it yet but it will be on there soon - maybe that will help? deviant-deziner - as mentioned above, I agree it is too wide - the bars across the top are 2x4's so maybe 6" is more proportional vs. the 12" it currently is? Would you take off the end stacks? Where did you get yours premade? We looked around but didn't have much luck hence me having him make it... I'd love to see your entire fence - it looks beautiful!

North side: open shade in the middle of the bed...few hours of sun on each end of the bed...in the morning on one end, and in the afternoon on the other end. * Dwarf Pampass grass * Sweet Flag * Tassle Fern * Autumn Fern * Big Blue Liriope * Hostas (various, do great in the shade on a North wall) * Cleyera (fabulous glossy leaves. new growth is red, turning to green as it matures) * Lamium (Golden Anniversary, White Nancy...both varieties provide bright spots in the shade but they won't appreciate damp shade...leaves get mushy) * Ivy * Gumpo Azalea (stays compact. can't kill it. I can't, anyway.) * Camellia Japonica (Marie Bracey var.) * Vinca Minor (spreads like crazy and some people don't care for it. Personally, I like that it spreads so fast, and it has pretty lavender flowers..just cut it back when it starts to creep too far) On the South side of the house: * Nandina Domestica (mine have required virtually no care and look beautiful. I have 5 of them planted and right now they are a brilliant red. There are dwarf varieties available which stay compact and still provide that red color in the winter) * Soft Touch Holly ( stays compact and mine have been maintenance-free, with the exception of occassional watering during periods of drought last summer. very slow growers and great as a filler plant) * Blue Shore Juniper ( compact and very pretty color..have been maintenance-free and have looked magnificent all winter) I did have Wintercreeper growing on this side of the house, too, but it got some sort of borer insects and never did do well, despite application of a treatment for the bugs. I dug it up a few days ago and tossed it. I have roses growing in front of the house, by our front door, and they face due west....so I'd wager that they'd do well for you, too, in that position. I cut ours back too hard last Fall and I thought I'd killed one of them because it started oozing and didn't look well at all. Nope...it's growing like mad at the moment. Our electric lines are the only lines that don't run under ground, here. It would be a good idea to find out where yours are located because while digging a bed for my Sago Palm last year I cut into our cable line....looked just like a pine tree root. *blush* They came out and fixed it for free, but the guy said if I did it again he'd take my Sago away. LOL. Anyway, all the plants I've listed provide interest year round, with the exception of the Hostas, which die back once freezing weather sets in. They will come back, though, when it warms up again. Everything is just now in its second year...ie., it all got planted last year. We only purchased our home 2 years ago and I didn't get around to landscaping the property until last Spring. BTW, if I can figure out how to upload my pictures of the plants I've listed, I'll post them. I took pics. last fall of all my beds but they're in a file on our computer, not hosted. I think that glass tables and dark wood can work if the styles have a similar feel (traditional, vintage, modern etc). The tables you posted above seem modern, is your furniture modern too? The only thing that scares me about glass tables is that they seem fragile, but I'm biased as I have young kids in the house and try to stick with sturdier items.

Your best bet is "The Pool Cleaner". Adapt it to your skimmer with the Pentair Vac Mate. The Pool Cleaner is the best sweep out there in terms of performance and lack of maintenance down the road.

It says 100%, my screen used to not be like this, I don't know what or how it happened, now it is every single site I visit.

I have an Acer 14" and the settings are what you indicated on the prior post. I just don't know what else to do. Thanks

your monitor should have some buttons on the front of it to adjust settings see if by any chance you have one that is auto which when pushed will auto set it, often times when someone is cleaning a monitor or messing around one they can accidentally hit some of those button by accident and change the settings.

Well you answered that you have an Acer 14 inch but failed say if this is a CRT or LCD monitor, nor did you tell us a model number which may help too.

What are your settings set to?

Try holding down the control key (CTRL) on your keyboard and rolling the scroll wheel (the center wheel) on your mouse. You have to be holding the CTRL key down while scrolling.

Roll is very slowly backwards and you screen size should shrink. Roll forward and it enlarges.

has the actual text size changed at all, are the words larger? the font size increased? if so you can also go to your browser top bar and on view change those there from larger to smaller.

well it is an acer crt and I dont' see a model number, does not seem like the font size has changed. I tried to hold down CTRL and roll my middle button on the mouse down. It got huge going backwards, and when I went forward with the wheel, it is so tiny I can hardly see the print and cannot get it to move again with the CTRL and mouse wheel. what do I do now?

OK try this to determine your settings.
right click on an open area of the desktop
click Properties
click the Settings tab

Now on the left side of this window you should see the screen resolution and it should be set to 640 X 480 for your monitor, use the slider bar if it needs changing. Click Apply and OK.

Just to the right you see the colour quality setting. This should not need changing, I point it out just so you are aware of what and where it is.

I cannot get it any lower than 800 x 600? what do I do now? thanks, I am a novice to all of this. thanks.

Hmm, interesting. Wonder why? If this is a factory built computer give us the make and model and what version of Windows you are running.

Have you ever updated any video or other drivers or had someone do that for you?

For what its worth, that happened to me when I installed IE-7. Large enough to read comfortably meant scrolling every line side to side. Tried all thats been mentioned and nothing helped. Gave me headaches and took away any pleasure of using the computer, so I deleted it in add remove and went back to IE6.

are you able to get to the corner of the browser window so that your cursor becomes double sided or 4 sided and then drag the edge of the window in to resize it? you should be able to do that from the bottom corners as well as the sides. Drag it out or in to where it fits your monitor and how you want it. Then shut down your browser completely with it in that size. It should keep the size on the next browser restart.

There is also an add on for firefox browser if you happen to want to use it that allows you to resize with the push of a button. That add on is. Window Resizer 0.5.1
