Thank you for all the congrats and well wishes. It surprised me how eager I was to post my news here. I haven't even participated on this forum for a year, but this group of kind and welcoming people has become important to me.

Our little one's name is Priscilla Karen. She weighed in at 8 lbs, 6 oz and was 20 3/4" long. She has a lot of medium brown hair. Right now her eyes are still "baby grey" but they could end up green, like her mom's, though more likely they will be brown.

DD did not want a name that was on trend and Priscilla is my mother's name. Hardly anyone knows that, as most people know my mom as "Jo" (long story..) so my mom feels honored, and there will not be any confusion with 2 Priscillas in the family.

Her middle name, Karen, was SIL's mom's name. She died when he was in college after a long, courageous battle with a debilitating illness. My heart hurts to think she missed the chance to know this child, but I truly believe she is watching over her.

I remember coming home from having my babies and longing for sustaining homemade meals. So I have been cooking these past couple days to keep the little family supplied with dinners that are easy to warm and serve as they try to establish a nursing/sleeping schedule.

I did snap some pictures at the hospital, but the baby has already changed so much since then that I will take more this weekend to post. The lighting was bad there and we were sensitive about using the flash. Also the baby was required to wear a cap the whole time. I promise I will show her off very soon!

caliloo - I found the info you posted very interesting. Combining the traits of those two signs, she sounds a lot like her mother. And that would be wonderful!
