PSP X2 help needed

Hi, I installed Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 several weeks ago and all was well. I have been having fun with it until yesterday when it started acting up. First it tries to access the floppy drive every time I open a picture. Second in the middle of working on a project it just quits, I get that screen that says "Paint Shop Pro has encountered a problem and needs to shut down" and of course it wants to send an error report to Microsoft.

I am frustrated as this is one of two stress relievers for me, the other being gardening. I am NOT a graphic artist, far from it, but I love creating things in this program and now I can't use it.

Any help would be appreciated.............

have you tried just uninstalling and reinstalling it? Sometimes you can get corruption in some of the files and a reinstall will fix that.
Did you happen to install any new programs or anything at all around that time?
If you go to start control panel add remove program find it in the list and select it there should be not only the option to remove it but also repair, doing that or doing a reinstall would be worth a try.

I did uninstall, then reinstalled and so far it seems to be working okay, I actually completed a small project but I am nervous that it will start happening again....just a feeling!

AND! PSP keeps trying to access the floppy drive, when I open an image from the c drive, or when the program starts, or when I save..........well you get the picture!

Urlee, I should have posted that I got it installed but haven't had time to do much playing at all. I have been busy putting my computer back together..getting my apt like I want it & getting ready to go to VA for 3 weeks leaving in the morning (better than no excuse LOL) There is lots going on here so I stay a pretty busy now. It sure is different than living in the boonies of north Florida. I went inside of the file on drive C looking & there I found an install icon. That worked for me. I never know what info to put in RUN to start a program unless it tells me & this didn't. Thanks for the responce, Sugar

Well, I uninstalled the program & reinstalled it again. Nothing changed, still same problems. Then a couple days later & went to try & figure it out again & the program was working correctly like it used to. Don't know what happened but I am not to thrilled with this version but I have it now so will mess with it once in a while. For now I prefer PSP7 LOL Thanks for the tips. Sorry I had to leave for a few minutes I can better show U the problem. Until today the red would have filled the whole NEW layer I added on.. I added a new layer.. sent it to the bottom & it would have covered the bottom layer..Now U can see what it is doing. I used red so it was easier to see. I don't know why. I sure would like to get it so it would do the same as before again but how? I have also added one done in PSP8 which is how it should do in 9 but isn't. Do I NEED to have 2x2 tiles on a sheet for a shower/wet room?

With a center drain and a mud bowl, I have no problems going up to a 4" tile. Going larger than that and tile rocking and lippage can start to be an issue due ot the compound curves of a mud bowl. Depends on the size of the shower and shape of the bowl, the larger the shower the easier it is to get larger tiles to conform. That's my experience. If you want larger tiles, with a center drain the installer can do a four-plane inverted pyramid shaped bowl. You'd have four triangular planes going from the shower wall to the drain, and you'll have tile cut lines going from the corners of the shower to the drain. Or you can use a linear drain and use tiles as large as are practical. As you lose grout lines, you lose potential traction underfoot. So check the wet coefficient of friction of the tile you plan to use to make sure it won't be a slip hazard. The only single piece stone slab shower pans I've fabricated myself have been out of soapstone.

I emailed Corel with my problem and lo and behold, they answered this morning. I used their unistall download, which they say works better than add/remove programs. Then after reinstalling they sent me a link for updates/patches. Seems to be working fine now and so far the floppy drive is not being accessed when in PSP. OF course I have not used it yet to get photos from my old Sony, which uses a floppy disk. If I continue to have problems I will just try replacing the drive, it might just be bad.
