Neil has Lifeline. As soon as he pushes the button the lifeline starts talking, telling him that they are calling for help. In about 5 seconds the phone rings, goes to speaker phone and asks him if he needs assistance. He can say call my wife which would be my cell phone number. If I don't answer then they go down the line. I didn't put any neighbors on my call list but did put our best friends who live and work just down the block. Lifeline calls the police or ambulance only if there is no response from the patient after they have pushed the help button or if the patient asks for emergency help. Otherwise they call the fist number on the list of responders and then on from there. Neil has to test the system every month and so far it has been working great. We haven't had to use it for real yet but it is comforting to know that it's there. I only leave him alone when I have to take Katrina to the doctor but I feel like if he needs help he can get it. George, your neighbor is long overdue for assisted living and will probably adjust quickly to being with people all the time. Over the years you and Leone have no doubt been a wonderful friend and neighbor to her.

Hi all, Dang, my life just needs to SLOW down. Dh is doing well but Sunday morning he woke up and it was plain to see that the depression had hit him like a ton of bricks. Mind you that is even a bit funny since he is a shrink and knew it could happen but did not think it would happen to HIM! With lots of TLC he is feeling better and the last of the site pain is better. Which is good since I am searching the calender for a good day to pencil in my breakdown ;-) Thanks for all the nice comments.. I do my best to keep up and keep moving and that is a great help with the Lupus symptoms. You know the funny part was that for years no one caught it that it was the *L* that I was dealing with. It was only after the death of one of our children that one doc started to piece things toghter. Mind you.. once all the facts were together it was pretty plain and it turns out I had been flaring since I was in about 8th grade!! .. such is life. I always figure that there are others with less than me and more hardship so I need to suck it up and get on with life and walk this earth to help others. I finked out tonight on the dinner thing and just got salads from a local deli since I was tired.. but I am still looking at new ways to eat... funny really since I have been actually DREAMING about Holandaise sauce!!!! I really am not trying to end up as the expert! You are in this business so you already know most of this, but I hope someone can benefit, somewhere. 1. The difference between breach of contract and fraud is the intent of the promisor at the time the promise was made -- if I intend to sell you a widget but run out of money, my widget supplier is on backorder, or any other excuse you've heard, it's probably "only" breach of contract. Fraud is hard to prove for that reason. In most states (YMMV), you can get punitive damages for fraud, but not breach of contract, hence the difference. 2. Anyone who relies on the widget being golden yellow and special orders golden yellow tiles to match may also be entitled to additional, consequential damages. Especially if they told the widget fabricator about the stuff being ordered/made to match. And if you can't get the golden yellow widget anywhere in your state and have to order from another state far away, and have that replacement 400 lb slab of widget shipped, the shipping (and, maybe, time and travel expenses) is another item of consequential damage. Please mention the phrase "consequential damage" to a lawyer and watch her greedy eyes light up. In my state, the homeowner might get the consequential damages for breach of contract but there are some very specific rules on what you can and can't do in case of fraud, which is why you need a local lawyer (expert in igloo defects?). BTW, you don't have to choose between fraud and breach of contract at the beginning -- you can claim both. 3. I know nothing about criminal law. 4. If you wish to go this route (which may be very effective in a small community), bad word of mouth is incredibly effective -- but there is a huge difference between "They sold my widget to someone else" (true statement of fact) and "They will sell your widget to someone else and steal you blind" (maybe defamation). 5. Stuff you already know...keep your documents, note your phone calls, etc. There are a lot of fine points that a good local atty will pick up on (atty fee clause in contract?) but I don't want to be giving out legal advice over the internet to someone in another state. Leslie, I am about an hour west of Grand Island so a little jaunt for you:) My oldest is at home (5) she has preschool and is a good helper for me and can entertain herself. Also have someone coming to stay today and my mil is coming over tomorrow and after school on Wednesday my mom will come and get Rhiannon for the weekend. We haven't decided but may go for the amnio on Friday and if the baby is ready have the c-section early because of the toxemia and my blood pressure. If I can get off bed rest at 37 weeks I will go ahead and wait for the c-section. We went through this decision last year with Hayden and I told myself that if it happened again I would go with the later date, but that was because of contractions on things that could hurt the baby.
