Best way to do email

I find this confusing: There are as many ways to do email as there are to make spaghetti sauce. We've had a single account with the dialup service we're about to abandon, and now we realize that we have to choose somebody- Yahoo, Google, Whoknowswhat.com, they've all got "free" email accounts.

Once more, I'd be grateful for guidance!

I have both gmail and hotmail accounts and find them both satisfactory. My isp (sbcglobal.net - not att) uses yahoo servers. You could open free accounts with all of them and give them a try. Different users have different tastes.

I have two different gmail accounts and have been very satisfied with that. I have them configured to download in Outlook Express, so that's where I read them----don't have to go to the gmail site. About once a month I go to gmail just to check the spam folder in case something got put there that isn't spam.

Really, there is no magic tool you can wave at this one. Neatly trimming face frames while they're mounted on the installed cabinet is tricky, skilled work. Any tool that can do this job can also make a mess of the cabinet in a fraction of a second. It's not clear exactly what tools you have to work with ("saws" is pretty vague), and it's also not clear what the material is (there's a big difference between working with pine and oak) so it's hard to make straightforward suggestions. Also, the ideas of using the dremel or sanding the wood away are so unworkable as to suggest that you might be in over your head, at which point we start to worry about your safety.

There are different methods some use plastic bags, water bottles , deli containers etc. Larger the airlayer branch the larger the container. Have used as large as a 1 gallon container with window cut out and sealed with clear packing tape to see roots on a decent size branch in past. Personally i've done it outdoors numerous times soon as tree wakes up from dormancy. Useing regular water bottles or 1 quart deli containers cut down 1 side and cut out hole at bottom to size of branch then put around branch. I use duct tape to seal inside of container cut then then i tape on outside of the same cut -helps roots from sticking when removing later. Also i put some tape around bottom hole . I then fill with wet potting mix and tape the top if useing deli container and cover the container with foil. Depending on weather i use a turkey baster to water it so mix does not go dry. Patience is the key to let container fill with roots before removing , then potting into small potting container pre prepared with moist mix and hole in mix scooped out to fit new airlayered rootball. Keep in shade and adjust to light over a period of time some eaves may or may not droop right away in process but thats ok it will come around even after loseing any leaves. Thanks all. I do worry that they may not be re-potted as they should be, and that is why I want to add a little card with instructions (very simple and brief) or better yet a good website they can access. Also most of these people will be my long term patients, seeing me usually at least every 3-6 months. I will probably ask how the plant is doing and would be available for questions. I plan to put them in good, fast draining soil. I quickly wrote up some simple instructions that could be general for spiders and pothos. Let me know what you think and make suggestions if I am wrong. Water: These guys don’t like wet feet! Water when soil is dry to about an inch or so deep. You can almost wait until the plant is just starting to wilt. If you water too much you will start to see yellowing leaves that wilt and fall off, this is a sign of root rot, usually due to over-watering. Light: Bright but indirect light. Can survive and even thrive on florescent lighting indoors. Direct sun, like it would get outside, can sunburn the plant and it will lose leaves. When it has ideal light you will see plenty of new leaves forming, less than ideal lighting will cause long spaces between leaves and it will lose its variegation in color. Location: Not too close to a heater or an air-conditioner. Hanging baskets are beautiful, near a bright window or florescent lighting. It can tolerate humidity and would even enjoy it so a bathroom can be nice too. Feed: Any houseplant food, follow instructions. More is NOT better and can cause damage to tender roots. Plants need feeding more during peak growing season, spring and summer. Potting: Re-pot when roots begin to come out of the drainage holes. Never put into a much bigger pot. Always use a pot with a drainage hole. If you have a nice pot with no hole, simply use it as a pretty cover pot (keeping the bottom of the plant’s pot up out of pooled water). Use fast draining mix like for cactus and succulents and put in additional perlite.

I, same as grandms, and love it that way.
OE opens faster than opening from Gmail website.

Plus, me being on dialup, I use Mailwasher to delete the "huge" MB ones my inconsiderate friends send to me.
Very seldom get spam but use Mailwasher to weed out forwards I find useless to receive.

I also have Windows Live Mail but am used to and like the OE features better.

As someone suggested, try more than one. I have a gmail and a yahoo that I just used to store stuff e.g. perhaps I have a file with stuff I don't want to loose such as in-laws who communicate once a year at Christmas so I forward all their stuff to a Xmas folder and forget about it for 12Â½ months.

I have found on pc's that needed a real cleanup , hotmail was the biggest culprit. Spam forwarder par excellance. Yahoo is decent and a must for at least on "throwaway" account. I use that one for filling in forms, etc. where I don't want to hear back from a company, etc. I have a separate email account for friends, one for family (Thunderbird) and another Yahoo for business contacts. Thunderbird is a great email program and on pain of death, no one in my family would dare forward anything to me. I have taught them if it is something that NEEDS to be forwarded, they will address the mail to themselves and use BCC to all recipients. Keeps other people's email addresses from prying soammers.

Another free email account that has no spam and can be used with Outlook Express is GMX at WWW.GMX.COM.

I like gmail. Have a few accounts with them and after a year, have not had one piece of spam. As the above poster, I also keep an account for ordering on-line or having to register somewhere I know I'll never go back to.
